Now that summer has arrived, what are the top 5 items that you carry in your car, no matter what, to help you be prepared for the summer heat and possible emergencies?

Tonklight, portable battery jumpstarter/multicharger, my toolbag which also includes an impact driver and Leatherman, water, and shooting mat.

Water to drink
Basic recovery items(tow strap and come along)
Basic tool set(including tire stuff)
Coolant
Full Size Spare

Same but with MRE.

That full size spare is much more important than most people realize.
It's one thing if your vehicle never leaves the city, or pavement, but it's a whole nuther critter if you actually NEED a real tire.

Water and ice in my hydro flask, sweat rag,sun glasses, cash ,and portable battery charger and of course always 2 guns 😎🔫🔫

I ride most days, so it's:

fairly comprehensive FAK to include a couple tourniquets
headlamp
firestarting (couple of road flares)
compass & maps
multitool
mirror
poncho
duct tape
pen/paper (rite-in-rain)
extra gloves
extra sunglasses/safety glasses
watch cap

And at the moment, a Snap-On 1/2" drive ratchet just in case I happen to come across one of their trucks so they can fix it...lol.

Summer time
1. Water
2. Radiator fluid
3. spare car battery
4. Gun
5. Extra par of shoes

My vehicles eat batteries here in AZ a lot. Both of my Trucks use 2 900cca batteries and the heat just tears them up. I just went down and bought a recondition one as a spare.

a cell phone battery back up charger, hehe, with a phone you can dang near get anything you want.

if in the sticks, well then thats something different.
No reason to go thru the brain damage if in civilized areas, while it may cost a few bucks, the lack of wear and tear on your grey matter and body will be appreciated.

again away from the so called civilized world, well now thats something different

Sounds like you have a vehicle problem and not a battery one. Find out what's wrong with your charging/wiring and get it fixed.

It's the heat, Steve.

I have a 2004 truck I bought new. It got batteries before it was out of warranty. It's also has two 140a alternators.
