U.S. Military training exercise running in the Phx. area beginning tomorrow thru Saturday

Beginning Monday June 16 through June 21, members of the U.S. Department of Defense will be conducting annual military training in designated areas across the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area.
Residents may notice low-flying helicopters, simulated gunfire, and controlled explosions, primarily during nighttime hours. Please be aware that these activities are part of scheduled training and not an emergency.

Safety is our top priority.
All necessary precautions are in place to protect both residents and training participants. Local law enforcement officers will be on-site to help ensure the safety of the community and minimize any disruptions.

This training has been coordinated with local officials. While we understand the interest, no public or media access is permitted due to operational security.

Important Note: This training is not related to ICE or immigration enforcement in any way.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as this important training takes place. Thank you for your continued support.

Well,...if you want to put your tin foil hat on;....

A good friend is a former Blackhawk crew chief with the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Air Regiment), which is the Nightstalkers you may recall from the movie BLACKHAWK DOWN. Basically, they are the special forces taxi service. Whenever Delta or Seals or Rangers need to dropped in somewhere by heliborne assault,...the 160th is who gives them a ride. And wherever those special boys go, you will find a detachment from the 160th sent along with them. They are like peas in a pod. And thus, whenever these urban practice events happen, it is invariably craft and pilots from the 160th flying between the skyscrapers, looking like action movie heroes.

They've been here in Phoenix before doing this stuff. Nothing new. But typically, we the public get a heads up about it a few weeks before. And when the 160th is coming to town, my buddy normally gets a call so that they can arrange for getting together for some beers.

But this time,...no one called. More interesting,...no one is answering when he tries to contact them. Hmmmm.

Combine that with less than 24 hours notice to the public,...and this is highly irregular. Then consider the timing of what has been going down this weekend. Some might think the Pentagon is all fired up to get in some last minute practice before the ca-ca hits the rotating oscillator.

Or maybe I don't know anything.

I seem to remember this happened several years back... Israel and Iran were going at it, and the conspiracy was the US was training to invade Tehran.

Interesting how history repeats itself.
