I understand the the overwhelming concern is that we would exceed hospital capacity with a run of covid patients that need advanced care but ... I just dont know how long they think the can forestall the inevitable.
I was diagnosed with the covid almost 2 weeks ago. I went through a couple of rough days of chills, uncontrollable shaking, shortness of breath, fever and body aches like I had just played a game of contact football. Lasted about 4 days then it was mostly just a low grade "I feel like crap" until about 4 days ago. Got progressively better but its only been about 2 days where except for being wiped out I feel good and in good spirits. Now I am mostly bored and want to go out and play.
I understand its different for different people but ... I have truly had far worse Flu's in years preceding covid.
Its not going away. Being a virus and not bacteriological it will probably be much like the flu in that you will have to get inoculated once a year. if you are not suffering from preexisting you are unlikely to die or even need hospitalization. Even though I was one of the infected .. I think its time to rip off he bandaid. How many more businesses go under, how many more people lose jobs, how many more people lose homes? Sickness is as much a part of the human condition as breathing and has been with us since the begining of man on earth.
Testing in AZ is a JOKE! I am not sure why since proper testing would put peoples minds at ease when they got to compare how many people got sick and how many died. At present I think AZ deaths from covid are around .01 of the population.
In order to be tested most places demand a test request from your doctor. My wife doesnt have a regular Doctor so that was out. Her job required her to be tested so that left a few Urgent cares, CVS or the free testing where you sit in your car for 4 hours in the heat.
Went to CVS last tuesday and took the test. The girl giving the test had not prepared the package even though we had an appointment so my wife sat in the drive through for over an hour. They recommend you come alone so she was sitting in the drivers seat, alone in the car. The first question was
Are you blind??
one of the other questions ... while my 64 year old wife was sitting in plain view of the tester was ..
are you pregnant??
Here we are 8 days later on a test that promised results in 2-4 days and we still dont have results. Her job contacts her religiously for test results and we have none to offer.
At this point we both feel better and the test is fairly worthless except that without it her job will require that she use sick or vacation time for the time off even though their rule was if you feel sick stay home.
Its a mess ... its not like I havent had or been a part of other messes but ... I think its time to just accept that their is a sick going around and get over it. Open it up and let the chips fall where they might
