I understand the the overwhelming concern is that we would exceed hospital capacity with a run of covid patients that need advanced care but ... I just dont know how long they think the can forestall the inevitable.

I was diagnosed with the covid almost 2 weeks ago. I went through a couple of rough days of chills, uncontrollable shaking, shortness of breath, fever and body aches like I had just played a game of contact football. Lasted about 4 days then it was mostly just a low grade "I feel like crap" until about 4 days ago. Got progressively better but its only been about 2 days where except for being wiped out I feel good and in good spirits. Now I am mostly bored and want to go out and play.

I understand its different for different people but ... I have truly had far worse Flu's in years preceding covid.

Its not going away. Being a virus and not bacteriological it will probably be much like the flu in that you will have to get inoculated once a year. if you are not suffering from preexisting you are unlikely to die or even need hospitalization. Even though I was one of the infected .. I think its time to rip off he bandaid. How many more businesses go under, how many more people lose jobs, how many more people lose homes? Sickness is as much a part of the human condition as breathing and has been with us since the begining of man on earth.

Testing in AZ is a JOKE! I am not sure why since proper testing would put peoples minds at ease when they got to compare how many people got sick and how many died. At present I think AZ deaths from covid are around .01 of the population.

In order to be tested most places demand a test request from your doctor. My wife doesnt have a regular Doctor so that was out. Her job required her to be tested so that left a few Urgent cares, CVS or the free testing where you sit in your car for 4 hours in the heat.

Went to CVS last tuesday and took the test. The girl giving the test had not prepared the package even though we had an appointment so my wife sat in the drive through for over an hour. They recommend you come alone so she was sitting in the drivers seat, alone in the car. The first question was
Are you blind??

one of the other questions ... while my 64 year old wife was sitting in plain view of the tester was ..

are you pregnant??

Here we are 8 days later on a test that promised results in 2-4 days and we still dont have results. Her job contacts her religiously for test results and we have none to offer.

At this point we both feel better and the test is fairly worthless except that without it her job will require that she use sick or vacation time for the time off even though their rule was if you feel sick stay home.

Its a mess ... its not like I havent had or been a part of other messes but ... I think its time to just accept that their is a sick going around and get over it. Open it up and let the chips fall where they might

Boriqua,

As always, we can count on quality content from your posts. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Covaids.

My wife works in OR and ICU, last month she told me covid cases are filling up ICU. I asked her if they are confirmed cases, she said "pressumed".. so I told her then it's not covid.. we had an argument.. now I ask her if those patients are confirmed.. she said they are NOT allowed to say... yeah even to me....LMAO, N95 masks are still, 1/day use unless the mask get damaged. Anyway, I'm glad Mr. Leather man Boriqua has fully recovered!

To those of you in the medical profession in the valley, did they finally get your supply lines of n95s sorted out or are you still experiencing shortages?

The hospital my wife works at you have to ask the charge nurse every time you need a new mask, I am assuming to keep theft down. The thing I don't understand is they no longer give them shoe booties to cover their feet. I guess you can't track the germs around out of the rooms on the soles of your feet?

When we wear shoe booties in surgery, they are there to prevent spark fro static electricity. I think that goes back to the days when flammable anesthetic were being used.

Alex, excellent post. So glad you have recovered.

I had to go get a stress EKG at Mayo yesterday. (All is well, no probs found.) However, before they would let me into the (Shea) clinic, I had to get the Wuhan Flu test.* Last Sunday morning at 0745, I drove into the Mayo hospital parking lot (Mayo Blvd.) where they had a (refrigerated) tent set up. It was a very efficient assembly line. They could do two cars at a time. Many cars in front of me; I waited half an hour for my turn. They asked me questions (but not if I was blind or pregnant), then a guy took a three-foot long Q-Tip and shoved it into my nose until it made a bulge in the back of my skull. Then I drove away, feeling like somebody had just shoved a three-foot long Q-Tip up my nose. Questions plus nose abuse took five minutes tops. Sunday night, I got the results online: Chicom Cootie-free.

* Everybody, including the New York Times, called it the Wuhan flu or the Chinese flu until the SJWs put out the word that we all had to stop calling it that because Orange Man Racist. F__ that. We have always named viruses after their origins. Spanish flu, Zika virus, Ebola virus, Hong Kong flu. When I was a kid I had German measles, for Christ's sake! I'm not going to give in to the political correctness. It's the Chinese flu or the Wuhan flu (or Chicom Cooties) as far as I am concerned. My Chinese-American friend agrees. Her parents gave up a lot to bring her here from China when she was eight years old, to get out of that God-forsaken communist s__hole. She has no love for Communist China or any communists. She is also a Trump supporter.

BTW Alex,
Do you have any suspicions about how you got the CHINESE virus? Did you eat a bat taco, or go to happy hour at a nursing home, or go to a big protest/looting party?

There was one day where ... lying nude in a tub of used Chinese bath water, gnawing on bat wings and washing it down with Wuhan pig blood that I thought .... hmmmm I feel a little ...well a little unwell! :)

Actually it could have been any number of places. I visit an indoor range 2-3 times a month. I was at canyon lake kayaking a bunch and the parking lot was packed when leaving so who knows.

Life is for living .. not just being alive. I would have rather died at 30 with bumps bruises, stories and adventures than live to 100 hiding in a room.

I'm not young enough to be on the Antifa mailing list for updates on looting and vandalism meets ... and I don't like to drive at night anymore and ... looting seems like a lot of work since I already have a large screen tv!

Houston Texas example of MSM lying can be seen here in Phoenix and other areas.

Boom pointed out that his hospital one year ago was also at 95 percent ICU capacity – long before Covid was a thing!

That’s right. Apparently, 95 percent utilization of the ICU is a typical June condition, not the sign of the Covid Apocalypse. And contrary to the heated headlines on the MSM, only about 25 percent of Houston’s fully occupied ICU’s are accounted for by Covid patients.

Again from Boom:

'It is completely normal for us to have ICU capacities that run in the 80s and 90s,' he said. 'That’s how all hospitals operate.'

...the hospital '[has] many levers in our ability to adjust our ICU,' he said, claiming that the hospital capacity regularly reported by the media is 'base' capacity rather than surge capacity.

Boom also alluded to hospitals’ ability to turn regular beds into ICU beds as well as to turn recovery, and pre- and post surgical areas into ICU areas if needed as a kind of coronavirus 'flex area.'

Specifically, there are about 2,200 ICU beds in the Houston service area, but another 500 beds could be added to this after such planned for conversions and re-purposings. And Boom also pointed out an even more salient point:

Boom said overall, hospitals are seeing younger COVID-19 patients, who stay for a shorter period of time, and fewer deaths. Houston Methodist CEO Dr. Marc Boom told CNBC on Monday that the demographics of the outbreak have 'flipped' and that the mostly-younger people arriving in the state’s hospitals often don’t require ICU beds, even though many do get very sick.

Finally, there was this rebuke to the smirking CNN anchor, who on Saturday had been bemoaning that the situation was allegedly so desperate that a Houston children’s hospital had been drafted into Covid service at great risk to the children.

Not at all, according to Mark Wallace, Texas Children’s Hospital president and CEO. Actually, this was just part of the systems’ surge plan:

Texas Children’s started accepting adult COVID-19 positive patients this week and is currently operating at a 74 percent ICU occupancy, Wallace said.

'We have the ability to take care of all of the Houstonians that need a critical care environment, that need to be operated on, or acute care,' Wallace said.

As we said, the MSM, the Dems and the Washington ruling class are literally rabid with Orange Mad Bad.

well just an FYI in case its important to someone to get results quickly ... dont use CVS Minute clinic! Its been 2 weeks and no results for my wife and she is ready to go back to work tomorrow. No worries since its been 16 days since original symptoms so if she had it we are all good now but .... Try and get a doctor to request a test if you have a regular doctor.

Smithers experience with the quick turn around may not be indicative of everyones lead time. He was getting a stress test which cost me about $1000 cash a few years ago so its in the hospitals best interest to process the Wuhan test quickly so they can collect on the procedure. If you are just a guy or gal that thinks they may have it, no one is in a rush to give you a test or results.

In the end .. if you can tough it out and your job doesnt require the test .. just watch some old movies, eat tylinol and drink gallons of water and expect to be unhappy for a a bit.

Alex - Thanks for a great response. Actually I feel you can catch this virus any place ! Masks won't help along with all the sanitizer in the world. One is either going to get it or it will miss you. Since it was confirmed you had it and your in the 60's and didn't die from it, I guess their current logic needs to go beyond the 70's barrier? If you get the correct treatment, one should survive this Virus. Yes I know their have been many seniors up in age which were introduced to this virus by stupid politicians in the past, that is probably why they state the us older age men and women have been targeted. I say good for you and thanks for the great response to your experience (thumbs UPx100), from a 76 year old male !!

More propaganda. In some cases medical personnel (including nurses) are being laid off and hospitals are closing. Just do a search on "Hospitals closing"

They're Lying About Covid...Yet The Fear-Filled Public Still Believes

july 6, 2020
The daily death count has morphed into the daily "new case" count, as 100,000 tests a day have exploded into 700,000 tests. Is it a wonder cases are increasing? But what they don't dare mention is that deaths and even the death rate continue to decline. In fact the CDC warns that Covid is at the stage where it cannot even be classified an epidemic due to declining deaths. Still, more masks are required and petty dictators all around are calling for a return to lockdown. Can the truth ever be heard above all the lies? Watch today's Liberty Report:
