Bit does it have the world famous KelTec (horrendous) trigger?

I don't think you've ever shot a Kel-Tec PMR30. Outstanding trigger.

If it actually works that would be a nice piece, mag prices are a factor too didn't see any spares on the site. Though honestly I'd rather fork over an extra 85 bucks for a smith compact and get the 14 round mag kit and call it a day.

Keltec is a company I want to love but I've been soured by pmr and sub2k issues...and so have a lot of others.

ahh, Keltec... I used to have one of those.

In all fairness, they honored the warranty and replaced the receiver without hesitation. The downside is they had to honor the warranty and replace the receiver.

That being said they certainly do have some very ingenious designs.

As I have testified previously,... I had a SU16 underfolder for MANY years and shot MANY thousands of rounds through it, and then traded it for a weapon worth MANY times the value of the SU16.

But that was MANY years ago and I have no clue on Kel Tec's pieces today, but knowing what I do know about the SU16, I think whatever Kel Tec puts out is cutting edge fun stuff! If I wanted a 22LR hi-cap pistol, I wouldn't hesitate a second to get one of these,... hell, I have absolutely no need for a 22 mag pistol and have been extremely tempted by the PMR30!

The P17 is cool and inexpensive, but I'm more interested in the CP33. 33 rd of 22lr in a quad stack magazine, with a 50 rd extension coming out soon.

Add a telescoping Tailhook adatper, and you are good to go.

"Expensive to feed", translates to "Fun to shoot", to me. :D

So true. The problem is that I reload everything I shoot except rimfires and I can reload almost 100 9MMs for the cost of a box of fifty .22 Magnums.

Hell, I was in shock last week when I thought I should replenish my LR stock, I am down to 3/4 of a brick, not that I shoot it much but I do like at least a couple bricks on hand.

So, I went to my favorite/lowest price internet supplier to find that they have DOUBLED the damn price.

I can only imagine what quality 22 mag rimfire is going for!

Seems like the rimfire industry is bound and determined to raise prices across the board, with ammo improvements I just don't have the pay grade to decipher!!

Quality .22 MAG goes for around $10.00/box/50 rounds. You can get it cheaper but mostly that's what it costs.

Personally, I would prefer carrying 22LR for self defense rather than 9mm,... hmmm, in actuality,... I DO!

Hey Doc,... we all have read, or heard, that the rifle is our best form of self defense and how a handgun is a good tool to get you to your rifle. I think in certain circumstances, a palm size handgun in a front pocket can possibly be more accessible than a primary concealed carry piece, and therefore could be quicker to defense,... as well as putting an attacker on the defense, and thereby allowing a few seconds to get a primary concealed defense piece.

Of course, if time allows, accessing your primary defense tool first, is more desirable.

Bottom line, a 22 palm size pocket piece is (IMO) better than throwing a punch,... before accessing a primary concealed defense piece, in a close up and personal attack.

There is a purpose for every self defense firearm made, when used within its limitations,... imo.
