Schofield.
Does anybody have one? I’ve been wanting one for some time now.
Any experience with them? Quality? Or low quality?

I have quite a few Cimarron,Taylor,Uberti guns but have not pulled the trigger on the Schofield yet. Its on my list. I assume it will be like the others kind of hit and miss. Jim Perkins at Classic Single Actions has a very interesting article about all of the single actions available in the market. I highly respect his opinion and its worth reading. I have read on the internet that some of the schofields have issues that need "correction" tight actions, cylinders getting jammed after firing certain loads, really stiff triggers. But that is like everything internet rumors not first hand experience. The price is so high on them i would hope there not gonna require another 200.00 of action work but it would not surprise me.
Let me know if you get one or find any more pertinent information.

I’m just now starting research, thanks h8pvmnt for the list of topics to start researching, it is roughly twice the cost of uberti 1873 colt clones, you’d expect twice as nice, or at least finished and functioning

I've seen several. Pretty close to the original. In the CAS world, they aren't used much as the hammer is rather small. But they are solid and seem to hold up well, just not competition ready. About 18 years ago Armi San Marco made a closer clone however the quality wasn't as good.

Here’s a decent review from 2018

Big problem is I’d like to handle before buying on one like this, too many variables. Too many possible issues. My luck I’d order one, it would come in with all known issues.

I'm the same way. I'd like to handle and work the action. If I get one I'll probably just send it straight to Classic Single actions for his tune up and be good to go.

AJI used to have 3 or 4 in their SA case. Maybe give them a call and see if they still have a few?

Is Classic Single action local? It’s been about 20 years since I did CAS shooting.
