So, I travel a ton for work. Domestic and international.

This week I'm in Spokane, WA. The scenery is nice, but I can feel the infection. Barf....

I have to venture out of the hotel to grab a bite to eat. I find place in walking distance that will do. While I'm trying to enjoy my beer I can't help but overhear the zombie mind dump about which one is better..Seattle or Portland. Dirty streets, homeless, crime, drugs...

It's like arguing over which city in India is #2 when it comes to the amount of $h!t flowing in the street...

SHITHOLES! ...sorry...

Being my life was in the Portland area(far east side). I will be flying back soon to laugh at the once great city. With friends there getting CCW and scared to go to the city. One wonders how "wonderful things" will be in another 20 years. But then I see Phoenix heading down the same road..... I am already looking at my next move.. Alaska?

If I leave AZ it will probably be for something with land, like Wyoming maybe.

I left Alaska because of all the liberals who had moved in.

It seems they found out about all the "seasonal" jobs up there. You can work 5 or 6 months maximum and then collect unemployment for the rest of the year.

Palmer (north of Anchorage around 25 miles or so) is pretty full of them.

OTOH, it was a great place to grow up in when it was a Territory and things were different.

Tell me about it. No one hates it worse than me. It's probably the main reason that I left.

When I retired my wife originally wanted us to move to Alaska. Waaaaaay out in the boonies away from any cities AK. It was tempting but we ultimately decided it was simply too isolated and expensive. The costs are what those living in the wilds of AK shows almost always gloss over.

What's kind if sad is that most younger Americans don't even realize that Alaska and Hawaii didn't even become States until 1959 (year I was born).

I lived in Portland (west side) back in the 70's- it was getting over-run with kalifonicators back then.... they drove the housing market up to where I couldn't afford a starter home. Used to hang out at the Goose Hollow Inn and other downtown bars. I moved out in '80 - I can't imagine what its like now...

You hear people in Spokane talk as if Portland or Seattle is better or which is worse?

Spokane is full of naive mentality more so than liberal. But it’s no Seattle or Portland, or Bellingham, or...

And Spokane is conservative but it’s no Arizona. Honestly more lib leanings in Tucson or Flag. But yeah, Seattle and Portland are lost causes now. Spokane is where Seattle was 30 years ago but I’m sure it won’t take 30 to see them turn.

It’s haplening here too
