It ain't Paris,...but there's an awful lot of this going on, with citizens who have survived their thieving occupiers coming out and hugging and kissing their fellow Ukrainian liberators. Folks are bringing out precious and rare food and liquor to give to passing soldiers. The crowds are smaller than we saw in Paris in 1944 because so much of the area is rural and so many of the men and boys were kidnapped and sent east. It's mostly women and old folks now. But it's exciting none the less.

Part of the speech not recorded in this clip,...“Nobody goes back behind bars. If you serve six months, you are free. If you arrive in Ukraine and decide it’s not for you, we execute you.”

Curious reports coming in today of Russians in combat on the eastern (river side) of Kherson. Video has been leaking in, but not much hard news about what exactly or who is fighting who. Last reliable reports about Ukrainian positions puts them about 23 kilometers away. That seems an awful long way to penetrate down a single corridor to stir up that hornet's nest. Both sides are quiet on the subject and not saying anything officially.

However, unofficially, rumor has it that Russian units are fighting a sort of mutiny against "somebody". Some say it is Chechens revolting. Others say it is Wagner. Others say it is just regular Russian kids scared and fed up. Who knows at this point? Russia ain't saying.

So nothing is confirmed at this moment. But if true,...and that seems likely,...it could be one more sign of how the whole thing is blowing up in Putin's face. I'm placing my bets on the Chechens trying to enforce order and prevent the Russians from fleeing. We'll see.

Trying to give himself political cover at home to justify the full mobilization and draft, Putin had ordered sham referendums to be held in the conquered territories showing they want to be part of Russia, just like as was fraudulently foisted upon Crimea in 2014.

Just to preserve the video evidence record of how this is actually going down for when people later on try to claim the citizens supported it, here's video showing armed soldiers going door to door with the vote-takers. The message is obvious;...vote for us or else. And if we observe you vote wrong, you go on the list. If you refuse to vote, you go on the list.

Wonder what happens over the winter though. If Ukraine cant maintain momentum it gives Russia an awful lot of time to bone up on mistakes and try again.

Every war is a race to adapt. Nothing goes as initially planned, so then what?

Russia only knows so many tricks. They just happen to be BIG ones.

If we win the logistical/training race, the Ukrainians can win. Or rather, maybe not "win", but at least make Russia lose.

But Trump was supposed to start this

The war just changed and Russia took their worst hit yet.

Ukraine has taken out the Kerch bridges linking Crimea to Russia. For you guys who understand logistics and mobility warfare, this is HUGE.

Russia, being a European army and not meant for significant deployment in regions without railroads, depends far too heavily on rail lines to move tanks and other armor as well as artillery and trucks and everything else. The whole reason the northern push from Belarus never happened was saboteurs attacking rail and fuel lines. That whole army was stuck there, causing them to eventually retreat because they couldn't move their beasts.

There now remains only a single railroad linking the eastern border with Russia Kherson and Crimea. If/when that is cut,...keeping the forces already there simply supplied with what they already need will suddenly be several magnitudes more difficult because Russia doesn't have enough trucks to convoy everything that far. And not only that, but route is through the flat and open south. Almost no cover at all. It will be an ambushing playground. And winter is coming. No supply lines? No reinforcements?

So it soon may be that Crimea and Kherson will only be able to be resupplied by ship and airdrop. That's gonna be risky with all those Stingers out there. Those Ilushin-76s don't fly at tree top.

And soon as the home team reaches Nova Kakhovka (or even sooner), they'll cut the only canal off that feeds water to Crimea, and without the Kerch crossings to supply from Russia, the only water Crimea will have is the desalinators onboard docked vessels.

Everyone knew the Kerch rail and road bridges were a target, but it was thought that it was out of range for the Ukrainians. Only the long range ATACMS munitions fired from the HIMARS have the range to reach that far from where Ukrainians currently hold territory, but those have not yet been delivered to Ukraine (or have they?) and only the 50 mile range rockets are what have been provided. So how did they do it? The bridges exploded right as a full train was traversing the impact location, which is a strong indication it may have been charges emplaced by some commando unit. We don't yet know. But if it was ATACMS or a similar missile capacity that Ukraine now suddenly is releasing, that would mean there is no area anywhere in Ukraine unable to be targeted. The 190 mile range of the ATACMS would let Ukraine hit any rail junction, any port, any marshalling yard,...anything.
