Ukraine announced today that it claims to have uncovered a false flag operation by Russia prepared to occur imminently in Belarus to blow up residential buildings in Belarus as a provocation to draw Belarus into the war against Ukraine. This is supposedly to be followed quickly by other Russian sabotage raids on infrastructure facilities and civilian population centers. Ukraine claims that saboteurs of the Russian Intelligence Directorate and mercenaries from Wagner Group have already arrived in Mozyr for these purposes.

While anyone can and should be skeptical of any pronouncements from either side of the conflict, this warning has the feel of truth to it. The absolute LAST thing Ukraine needs is Belarus jumping into the war. It is entirely in Ukraine's interest to do absolutely nothing to attack or antagonize Belarus so as to prevent that. So if such attacks within Belarus occurred, it would not make any sense to be an offensive by Ukraine. Ukraine has quite enough on its plate without having to have another enemy on another border. However,...such is entirely consistent with the desperation of the Russian side, as well as their historical penchant for such dirty tricks.

Is such an operation actually underway? Or did Ukraine just misinterpret some spy intel and yell the sky is falling out of paranoia?

We might soon see.

At this point this looks like blackmail. Give me more money or else I release the tapes on you and Hunter.

Biden says US will send $800 million in more security aid to Ukraine

How bad do things have to be for the Russians that a guy loses an arm and is NOT rotated back home,...AND how bad is the supply of mortars that these guys have to resort to lobbing RPGs as indirect fire? I mean, this whole video clip is full of WTF?!?!

Well,...it looks like the answer is that in fact things are indeed bad for the Russian supply chain. After losing 11 ammo depots in the last couple weeks to the new western artillery Ukraine is learning to deploy outside of the reach of Russian artillery,...Russia has now declared an operational pause. Supposedly (if you believe those lying punks), it is so their soldiers can rest up, receive mail and do some needed maintenance. Anybody who knows Russian doctrine know they NEVER do that in the midst of any campaign and that the statement is horseschit.

Not like we have people in need here right? People/families dealing with cancer or anything. Veterans needing assistance. Nope piss it away to the corrupt Ukraine where our politicians have children with high paying jobs in an industry they are trying to kill off here.

Interesting dynamic playing out in the Balkans once again.

Russia is of course motivated to try to distract member states of the coalition against it with other pressing problems. And another European war would do nicely to achieve that. So why not stir up that whole Balkans bee hive once again?

I recall reading over the past 20 years how everyone in the Balkans and Europe are all so happy how the war there is long over and a new generation has grown up afterward, promoting healing and blah, blah, blah. But inter-generational religious and cultural hatreds don't die in just one generation. Despite how everything might seem peaceful and prosperous to the ignorant tourist who doesn't look beyond the thin veneer, every Serb, Croat, Muslim, Christian,...no matter what side of whatever border has been raised hearing from their parents and grandparents why those bastards over there are guilty of trying to kill you before you were born, and how one day you'll have to kill them first.

Many folks aren't aware that Serbs in Bosnia have been talking seriously once again about seceding, breaking away no matter the costs. There has remained in Bosnia a U.N. peacekeeping force since the 90's, although things calmed enough that by 2011, the Germans completely pulled out and the force has been very insubstantial since then. In fact, it was kind of amazing it wasn't finally disbanded and cancelled all together. But there was juuuuuuust enough local tension still going on to apparently justify keeping it around, although by all accounts, it has been so insubstantial as to actually have created (according to some) a security vacuum.

Since first invading Ukraine in 2014, Russia had been laying the ground work in Croatian Serb nationalist circles to increase their ability to cause trouble there, just in case they were needed. This has been achieved through Russia's continued close relations with Serbia, which having a large ethnic Russian population has long felt closer to Russia than the West, even more so currently. Serbia is one of Russia's last remaining friends, and is benefiting greatly for that by means of fantastically discounted Russian oil and trade.

Concerned about the rising tensions in Bosnia with the increasingly agitated Serb faction, immediately after the latest invasion in February, Germany finally has redeployed troops to the U.N. mission there, seeking to strengthen the peacekeeping presence as a "precautionary measure".

But the current mandate runs out in November, and it is up to the United Nations Security Council to decide on an extension for another year. But concerns are growing that Moscow might use its veto to thwart an agreement, setting the stage to withdraw all UN peacekeepers right as secession rhetoric and agitation is reaching ever higher peaks. This could result in Serbia fostering (on Russia's behalf as well as their own) a split down the middle of Bosnia, with the Serbian region breaking away to join Serbia. This would leave the Croat region no choice but to do the same, joining Croatia. But then would come the dispute over where is the new border where Bosnia used to be, and that would likely set the stage for a whole nuther Balkan war at just the right time for Russia. That would be about the 1 year mark of the current Ukraine war, during which (due to winter weather and Ukrainian starvation) Russia would have the advantage in Ukraine to launch a great new offensive to dash across and take it all while Europe is distracted with the recurrence of the whole Yugoslavian nastiness.

All of this is just speculation and gaming out theories at this point. But it feels,...accurate.

Then today we start getting indications that, indeed, everyone seems to see another conflict coming, so people are pulling the stashed away AKs out from under the barn and oiling them up.

I'm not one to advocate for gov't blowing billions, but let's keep this in perspective;...the whole idea is to keep Russia from winning. (If I have to explain why that's in our interest and important, just go home, kid.) This amount is about what the Air Force is spending to upgrade 65% of the existing A-10 fleet and about 50% of the F16s. Add to that what we've donated already, which about equals what's being spent to update 50% of the F15s,...and you can see that we're actually getting off pretty damned cheap for costing Russia as close to as many troops in 7 months as we lost during all of Vietnam.

One has to bear in mind Putin's goal does not end at the Ukrainian border with Poland. And when he then attempts to go beyond that, which would involve NATO, against whom he can't win,...his involving of nukes are then guaranteed. So we don't want him to ever get that far, which is why Ukraine must prevail and Russia must exhaust itself, making itself never able to invade anyone ever again.

Then fight to win. This is a clown show where Zelenski has time to pose for vogue then demand more of US taxpayer money.

Sanctions didn’t work either.

If you haven't been following the strategy ongoing in the Ukraine war, the Ukrainians have been setting up this offensive for some time. While they may have other goals going on as well, this push has always been about the encirclement of the Russian army group occupying Kherson and other territory west of the southern Dnieper River.

This morning, the Ukrainians are storming Nova Kakhovka. That is the location of the final bridgehead needed to secure to trap the Russians currently west of the Dnieper near and in Kherson. Without any bridges to cross, the trapped Russians, when they flee, will have to swim for it and ABANDON EVERYTHING. It is estimated there is nearly 10 times the amount of weaponry there than we the west have sent to Ukraine. And unlike the new whizbang stuff we provide that needs training and familiarization, sometimes weeks of it;...these Russian systems are what Ukrainians are already trained on and know how to use right this second, and can be distributed and re-issued to Ukrainians everywhere.

Essentially, the Ruskies are about to experience their own Dunkirk.

Also of significance, Kherson is Ukraine's 2nd largest/important port, after Odessa.

But wait, there's more. Once in control of that area, there is a single crucial canal that will then be within bombardment range to be blown up and shut down. That canal supplies ALL fresh water to Crimea. Which means all of Crimea is about have their plumbing turned off. Life there is about to get very difficult for the Russians.

The Russians are about get a good ol' donkey phuk.
