Soon holiday packages + everday load with covid shopping, just overwhelming. I get meds in mail from express scripts and other mail have gone to chandler for a day then back to mesa, punt. Got much better I got a box for important to me things like above. Only problem now is the can get more in the back than you can pull out the front, its always something. The postal workers have crippling management, remember going postal was a term for serious mayhem.

I've got a package that's been sitting idle for ten days now with them. I tried emailing them and they just closed the ticket out and said everything's fine.

I'm not sure what to do next to get it moving again. It at least have someone tell me "yup, we lost it".

A couple of years ago I bought some stuff from a guy in Florida. Shipped Priority mail. Got sent to Northern California where it languished for 4 or 5 days. Got notices it was shipped out from there 4 different times and finally got it around a week and a half from when it was shipped.

Now I've got some magazines coming from Florida, been somewhere, god knows where for 5 or 6 days and I just got a notification that they've arrived in San Francisco. Since they're illegal in California, I've got to wonder whether some USPS employee decided he needs them more than I do?

Just got another update today, Saturday. My magazines are now in Oakland California. Maybe some gang banger there needs them?

Get any movement with that one?

I've had one hanging out in Atlanta for a week now.

Nope, still sitting tight in their Memphis, Tennessee facility as far as the tracking info tells me.

An article showed up in the news feed on my phone saying the USPS is completely gridlocked due to UPS and FedEx cutting back their services. Sounds like we're stuck with slow deliveries for a while.

I read a similar article. Bummer since I have a gun inbound. From what I understand .. in past years if Fed ex pulled up at "joes Gun shop" and he had 500 pcs they would take the 500 and try and make it happen.

Now they pull up and say .. we can take 250 and will come back tomorrow for more. it shows that all their deliveries are on schedule since they arent cramming to fit more in the system than they can handle.

Interesting ... I wonder if they were being hit with people or companies over Guaranteed deliveries and it cost them money or did the board decide they would rather hang their hat on 100% on time delivery.

I had an ineffectual boss that I didn't agree with on most things and one of the things she said when we were trying to get a project done on time was "lets just redefine done"

I hated that thinking but .. maybe it was right?

That's the gist of it. UPS/FedEx can say no, whereas the USPS cannot.

As to the redefining of terms, I guess that depends upon the circumstance and whether or not the product is good enough for acceptance. There's an awful lot of ways to look at that though.

I usually have pretty good luck with usps but I have an item that's been stuck in Seattle since 12/04. Today, the 16th, I got updated and it finally got to Phoenix.

Only took 12 days 🙄

Hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow.🤞

I would not order anything right now that is carried by the USPS, I have a small package from Alabama that was mailed 12-02, spent 8 days in Mobile Al at some distribution center, 14 days total and still not here and I have a small package out of Florida that's been in limbo for 7 days. In the past I have had fast shipping on items that shipped USPS priority or first class with tracking.

I agree that should be avoided, if possible.

Problem is a lot of sellers ship nothing but USPS, and others (like Midway USA) don't always give you the option of which carrier it'll ship through.

I bought an item that I wanted as soon as possible. 2nd day air ups was just 15$, so I pulled the trigger on an acog gift for my son.

just wanted to say this about my lost packages also

I know USPS is not doing well and I have had packages taking way longer than expected to get here, but they are still doing better than I expected. I hauled mail for them for 15 years and they have some great people that care about their jobs but also some of the laziest most worthless workers you could ever imagine. With the virus as an excuse, I am sure alot of workers just are not showing up for work. I know payday Friday nights on the dock were always short handed and the unions are so strong nothing will be done to make things better. So it is what it is, just enjoy complaining, nothing will change.

Trying to move the vaccine before Christmas was futile. All the carriers have been running at peak levels since the pandemic began.
Most of those guys running on empty.

So in addition to the 10+ things they screwed up for me this past year - let me tell you about their latest as it is so hilariously incompetent I can't fathom.

I sent a certified, tracked, signature required first class envelope to San Bernadino on December the 21st 2020.

The envelope was "guaranteed" to be there on the 26th, which I knew was B.S. but I figured as long as it got there before the first of the year it was fine.

In the envelope was/is a money order for $535.

The envelope makes it to San Bernadino on time - the 26th! But does it go to the recipient? Nope. It stays there for a few days, then goes to Pasadena for some reason. Sits there for a few days. Then it comes back to Phoenix and sits here for a while.

So today (1/13) I go into my local post office to get a refund - as this was time sensitive and the ship has already sailed on the transaction. The tracking just shows "in transit" from Phoenix. I want a refund of the money order. I have all the receipts and paperwork.

So what is the process for this? Took three employees to find out how to do it. Then they can't just refund me. I have to have an "inquiry" performed. Guess what....that COST $6.25. I have to PAY them to refund me MY money that THEY screwed up. Unbelievable.

On top of that bullshit, the "inquiry" may take up to thirty days, and IF they decided to refund me it will be via a check mailed by the USPS. They can't just refund to original payment method (debit) and they can't refund me an item that is in their possession, that I have receipts for, and that they have basically lost at this point.

Absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous. I informed all my customers and suppliers today that I will no longer do any business that requires USPS. This was the last straw. All the bulk garbage mail gets here/there no issues - but anything else is lost, stolen, delayed, or buried. Now I am 30 days out on the possibility of a refund - IF they deem I get one. Then I have to wait for them to do the one thing they are supposed to do, but can't - and that is mail me a check.

F*ck the USPS.

Day 10, still no movement.

Last week I sent a priority envelope to Florida. Did you know that the most efficient way to get a package from AZ to FL is to route it through Seattle? I didn't either. Fortunately, it ended up being "only" one day late.
