So in addition to the 10+ things they screwed up for me this past year - let me tell you about their latest as it is so hilariously incompetent I can't fathom.
I sent a certified, tracked, signature required first class envelope to San Bernadino on December the 21st 2020.
The envelope was "guaranteed" to be there on the 26th, which I knew was B.S. but I figured as long as it got there before the first of the year it was fine.
In the envelope was/is a money order for $535.
The envelope makes it to San Bernadino on time - the 26th! But does it go to the recipient? Nope. It stays there for a few days, then goes to Pasadena for some reason. Sits there for a few days. Then it comes back to Phoenix and sits here for a while.
So today (1/13) I go into my local post office to get a refund - as this was time sensitive and the ship has already sailed on the transaction. The tracking just shows "in transit" from Phoenix. I want a refund of the money order. I have all the receipts and paperwork.
So what is the process for this? Took three employees to find out how to do it. Then they can't just refund me. I have to have an "inquiry" performed. Guess what....that COST $6.25. I have to PAY them to refund me MY money that THEY screwed up. Unbelievable.
On top of that bullshit, the "inquiry" may take up to thirty days, and IF they decided to refund me it will be via a check mailed by the USPS. They can't just refund to original payment method (debit) and they can't refund me an item that is in their possession, that I have receipts for, and that they have basically lost at this point.
Absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous. I informed all my customers and suppliers today that I will no longer do any business that requires USPS. This was the last straw. All the bulk garbage mail gets here/there no issues - but anything else is lost, stolen, delayed, or buried. Now I am 30 days out on the possibility of a refund - IF they deem I get one. Then I have to wait for them to do the one thing they are supposed to do, but can't - and that is mail me a check.
F*ck the USPS.
