Here's what I don't understand;...supposedly the Port of Los Angeles and others are jammed up due to Covid protocols to protect personnel from working in close confines with each other and spreading the infection, and this has resulted in inefficiency. And infected and unvaccinated employees are kept away, limiting the labor force. Ok,...fine. That all seems reasonable.
BUT,....
Why is it just us?
For instance in Rotterdam, the largest port in Europe,...there is nothing like this going on. Freight has been slowed a bit, sure, but NOTHING like this schit show over here.

The shipping companies don't get paid until the freight is unloaded. Why do they tolerate their ships waiting offshore ?

So far, its just the little things. But the little things add up.
A friend of mine ordered a particular propane-fueled generator 5 months ago. He specifically selected a made-in-the-USA model to avoid the shortages that have been plaguing Chinese origin products. He was told it would be delivered in 2 months. But "Made-In-The-USA", legally speaking, still allows for a certain percentage of foreign parts. And wouldn't you know it, here he is 5 months later and only now getting the generator he was promised would arrive 3 months ago because the few crucial Chinese parts were unavailable to complete assembly.

There are some bare spots where some specific product is sold out but the shelves in the Casa Grande grocery store are still mostly stocked. Certainly nothing like the bare shelves we saw last year...so far. On the other hand, I have canned good orders from Walmart that have been delayed for over a week. However, Amazon orders have been delivered within a day of their original ETA. Perhaps that's due to Amazon having its own delivery vehicles while Walmart is dependent on UPS and FedEx.xerts1191 said:
