I only own semis, but there is something super classy about a revolver. My unicorn is a colt .38, someday.

Ya, there's something about getting "revolver evolver (sic) syndrome" that suddenly limits one's choices to the larger price tags,... I have suffered from this, for decades!! 8-)

For carry I prefer semiauto for number of rounds, ease of carry and ability to carry spare ammo easily.

For hunting I prefer revolver for performance and the ability to reach out. Now the G40 makes it out a lot as a back up. I carried that behind my 41 Mag for javelina and would not hesitate to deploy if need be.

I love a good old K frame S&W, to me no finer handgun ever made. However for CCW or home defense my choice is a semi auto, just more rounds to fling down range if the SHTF!

Which is more fun to shoot?

Whichever is more accurate.
I have lot's of guns but the ones that are the funnest to shoot are the most accurate ones.
I don't care if it is a revolver or a semiautomatic.
I like shooting tight groups and I like shooting distance.
Hitting a steel plate just to hear it ring doesn't do it for me.

Hey Pardner,

I really harmonized with you on that funnest to shoot criteria. My funnest is dictated by lots of variety; the spice of life.

But I just have to respond about that ringing steel comment.
There is nothing that does it for me more than firing off a 100 yard + round and getting immediate feedback from that PING. Going to a spotting scope after a shot takes me out of my rhythm.

I've gotten so bad, I have gone to bells, and gongs trying to play a little tune. For the kids, I love to put up several pieces of overlapping steel to make a big target and watch their tiny faces light up when they hear the riddle of steel. Nothing like it to me.

Revolvers are the "funnest" for me by a lot. I've got the Colt 1911, the Browning High Power, and the XDM for new stuff. I've even got a Colt 1903 and a 1908, both by John Browning.
Those are gorgeous bottom feeders, but none of these see any serious shooting time.

Now my 32 long, 32 H&Rmag, 327fedmag, and 32-20 guns are all taken to the dance.
I'm still banging steel with my 357 Maximums and my 44's, and 45 Colts as well.

Why?
I think it's because I grew up in Texas with all my heroes being Cowboys who followed the Cowboy Way. When the Rangers went to 1911's, many Texans thought the world had come to an end.
Why?
Because wheelguns with long tubes are made for Silhouette.

I always let my friends from out of state try my 686+ .357 ammo. Magnum revolvers are just more interesting to non gun people.

But I enjoy shooting my XDM 5.25 with the PRP trigger the most.

bottom feeders, I have them and carry them , they are just easy. But my revolvers, Smith, Colt , Ruger, I do like them and shoot them much better. I have to admit that when I carry my smith 29 it gets a little heavy after a while. Maybe I'm just getting old. Naaaah.
