For those with astigmatism (which I am one of) take your dot with you to the optometrist (preferably not the whole gun as that might make for some interesting convo, but YMMV), and have the doc run through the different choices until the dot becomes more crisp. I'd also recommend keeping the dot small- 3.5 or smaller MOA to help with the bloom.
I have a pair of glasses that I only wear when shooting. Other than that, I don't need any type of corrective lenses for day-to-day living.
Maybe one day someone will come up with an etched red dot like a prism but for a handgun. Till then, it's pretty easy to have shooting glasses with Rx lenses.
