Something to keep in mind is that if the car is stock vs modified, your own age/driving record and the deductible you want to carry all make a difference in what you'll pay. I was paying $480 a year for a $45K policy with Hagerty on my last Camaro that I recently sold.

What is also true is different insurance companies have different rates.
Hagerty seems to be a good company and lots of people use them I just found when shopping for classic car insurance, all other factors the same, Hagerty was usually the highest priced.
I'm a price shopper and when I can find the same coverage for 30-50% less I'll go for it. YMMV.

I had the same with Hagerty. They have been great, but I'm paying way too much it appears. The claim wasn't even really mine. My wife got into a fender bender and it was the other drivers fault, received a ticket. The other drivers ins co was totally screwing me. So, I got Hagerty involved.

An Elco is a good choice . Not near as costly as a chevelle yet parts are the same and easily accessible . They are both “A” bodies. No emissions if it’s insured through a collector car company and older than 25 years. Collector insurance is inexpensive and you insure it for the real value. State Farm or any of the consumer grade companies will give you scrap metal value in a total out. Carburetor or aftermarket FI? Carbs are cheap and simple but use more fuel, FI is spendy and uses less so take your pick. An elco is also good for car shows with swap meets. You can bring a wagon to buy parts and put everything in the back to bring it home.
