This is really going to put all the blame on 9News. They hired (who at 9News chose/ approved this guy?) an unlicensed (or shall we say undocumented?) security person. Someone is going to be fired over this.
The check to be paid to family of the victim just grew by a couple of zeros.......

It is also going to suggest that the press is in cahoots with the guilty parties doing all the rioting. Why not hire an actual professional? They can afford it. There are only 2 explanations for them having this guy at their side;...1). Incompetence, or 2). Partisan bias for/with the lefty terrorists.
 
I read this morning that he was contracted by a sub of the security firm 9news hired. Not unbelievable.

So 9 news might be twice removed from his hire and I dont know how much investigating they have to do when they hire a company with a license.

I dont think I recall ever having someone check sub licenses when hiring a GC so I wonder if its similar.

In the end .. I dont know what jail is like in the area he was arrested but now seeing the pics .. if he were headed off to jail in NYC ... he would be learning some new skills ... WHEW ... :dance:

Ultimately, it becomes the responsibility of the person receiving the services to verify the legality of the sub.
I've seen many homeowners get screwed by unlicensed trades hired by a GC on a job.

I bet someone at Pinkerton's is going to be fired over this. Plus a bunch of new protocols will be put in place to prevent this from ever happening again.
 
My prediction: Antifascum walks. If somebody (a very angry and belligerent somebody) smacked me upside the head, and sprayed me, I would believe he intended to kill me or inflict serious bodily injury after I was incapacitated. He might have taken my gun. He might have had his own gun. He might have kicked me in the head, repeatedly.

Our patriot should not have gone hands on. Yell all you want, but don't get physical.

I don't like it, but the law applies to everybody equally. I predict he walks. Place your bets.

I dont know ... Smithers might be on to something. I havent seen video .. only stills but if a police officer is pepper sprayed I "believe" he is justified ...well according to the rules .. to use deadly force.

Its the same excuse that works each time someone goes for their taser. If it works for them then it should work that way across the board.

Be interesting to watch ... I hope he gets locked up. One of the things you cant do is intentionally put yourself in a position where you have to defend yourself. Unlike a cop who has no choice but to go toward altercations .. did our hero not deescalate because he had his gun?

There are a couple recent incidents where that "excuse" with the taser led to the officer being indicted. I think the working theory there was that a taser can make it physically impossible to retain a firearm, but again, that theory hasn't worked out to well for a couple of officers of late. Pepper spray can be painful, but it's not physically incapacitating. Recruits in the academy are sprayed and then have to work/fight through a few scenarios, so I don't see how they can turn around and say pepper spray alone is a deadly force scenario.

The legal justification, at least in AZ, I think is pretty clear:

"When and to the degree a reasonable person would believe that deadly physical force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful deadly physical force"

What may happen if X, Y, and/or Z happens doesn't really come into play. It's not what you thought or perceived, it's what a reasonable person would think, which in reality is a jury member sitting in the comfort of a courthouse trying to put themselves in your shoes without feeling any real fear or emotion and having the added benefit of time to think through alternatives and other outcomes.
