Right now I am watching a mini-series on Netflix called "The Pacific." It is a companion piece to Band Of Brothers, also done by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. Not as good as BOB, because BOB is a masterpiece, but it's pretty damn good.

Taking some old friends (departed) to the range for a little shooting. And a lot of thinking....

May go shooting, but all weekend has been remembering the fallen military brothers and sisters. My brother was an Agent Orange victim, career Army, so I have skin in the game.

I am going to the graveyard for the services , where my father and my wife's father are buried.
Both WWII veterans.
We always take my wife's mother and my mother.
This will be the first year my mother isn't coming.

Our family's war hero was a Major in the 158th Regimental Combat Team of the AzNG, the "Bushmasters". So when we go camping or on any sort of outdoor outing during Memorial Day, we always make a point of doing so in some particular area around the state where the AzNG used to conduct training maneuvers before and after the war. Usually that's somewhere around Sierra Vista, but tomorrow we're headed to Wilcox.

By the way,...just so you can explode the heads of your liberals in your family,...did you know that Memorial Day is a [highlight=yellow]CONFEDERATE[/highlight] holiday? It's true. The former Confederate states started it in 1866, and it was later copied and adopted by the rest of the country a few years later.

I went shooting this morning. Shot a few pistols, weather was nice, can't complain.

Also going to see the new Civil War movie today!

It was just OK to me, nothing too drastic, I expected more, but got what I paid for.
