This happens when you flush the toilet in the plane the water turns to vapor due to the speed of the plane. If you pee into a fan it creates the same effect.

I was taught a long time ago that pissing into the wind (or fan) was a bad idea. As for condensation from jet exhaust, those jet engines spew out loads of dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) that commonly freezes and leaves a chemical trail. DHMO kills 3500-4000 people each year in the US. That stuff is dangerous.

;) Good one!
By the way, DHMO is also used to cool nuclear reactors. How many parents feed their children nuclear reactor coolant? Huh? Djever think about that?

It is the radioactive electricity from nuclear power plants getting the house wiring that worries me. Consider your house has power 24/7 and you are constantly exposed to it.

It's colder outside and exhaust is warm. That equals condensation. Basic science.
It was 87 degrees that day when posted

Sure, on the ground. Standard lapse rate is 2*C/3.5*F per 1,000’ of gained altitude. That means if it was 87*F on the ground (average of around 1,250’ MSL for much of the Valley), then it was around -31*F at 35,000’. No idea what altitude those were at, but you get my point. The difference between 1,400*F jet exhaust and -31*F ambient air temp = condensation, which will quickly cool and freeze = contrails.

This isn’t rocket science or a .gov conspiracy to make you any dumber than you already are lol, it’s just basic physics. :)
