I came across this YouTube channel by Matt Rittman who is is a 3D animator. He has several "how guns work" videos that are interesting with animated cutaways of firearm functions. Matt's visual renderings of firearms parts with light and shadow is very realistic. Here is his latest:

C&Rsenal which does super indepth mainly WW1 and before firearms does the same thing, just not as "photo realistic."
