According to the most current data of all "domestic migrants" (people moving to cities in the U.S. from cities within the U.S.),...the city most people moved away from was Los Angeles (143,000 people left). And while many red state metropolises are destinations for folks fleeing places like L.A.,...such as Houston, Ft. Worth, Oklahoma City,...Phoenix received the largest influx of domestic migrants, with 33,000.

I believe it, all you see is CA plates on 85 and I-10 these days.

They are here and they are not leaving

Yeah, that sucks. More solid red voters - something Maricopa County sorely needs.

Odd. I moved to Arizona almost three years ago. I am a hard core conservative and single issue voter. I vote for issues and candidates that further the Second Amendment and every expat Californian I know or have ever met in Arizona does the same. One of my friends, a "transplant" from Texas lives in the neighboring city of Prescott Valley and tells me the vast majority of his neighbors are from California and conservative. Granted, this is second hand information but I have no reason to doubt him.

And really, the tiniest bit of rational thought bears this out. Who, in their right mind will, at great personal expense and effort, relocate from tyranny to a free state and then change their political affiliation and voting habits to “spread the cancer”? Who would do that? Would you? Then for God's sake, give me the same credit you would give yourself!

It is far more likely that the increasing shadow of illegal immigration bears responsibility for that metastatic change in conservative states. California, a dark red state until the mid seventies, is a perfect example. The emigrating hordes from the south now comprise almost 40 percent of California’s current population. 60 percent of that demographic vote for democrats. Maricopa County, the largest county in Arizona and comprised of almost 4.5 million people, has a Latino population of 32 percent. That’s a lot of people voting for democrats. A lot more, I would suggest, than all California “transplants” combined.

And what about voter fraud? Can anyone say, with a straight face, that Katie Hobbs legitimately beat Kari Lake in the recent Arizona Governor’s race? I attended Kari Lake campaign functions and they were packed. Contrast that with the Joe Biden style of invisible campaigning by Hobbs and a reasonable person must conclude that, like the 2020 presidential election, the fix was in.

The blue virus threatening red states is not due to the anecdotal internet tripe of "transplanted Californians", it is a result of unfettered illegal immigration and corrupt elections. Instead of all the childish "Boo hoo Californians are moving to Arizona!" caterwauling maybe you should welcome them because we need all the 2A voters we can get.

NO, absolutely not Contrast that with the Joe Biden style of invisible campaigning by Hobbs and a reasonable person must conclude that, like the 2020 presidential election, the fix was in. I very much agree with you on this

My personal experience with this is the opposite of the point you are trying to make. I live in Ajo, small town living. We have been INUNDATED with imports from CA and WA. Easily 99% of them are hard left Democrats: they make it damn clear that their TDS and outright hatred of anything Republican is front and center.

you might be an exception to the rule, but they are here, loud, and DGAF about our AZ way of life and will NEVER assimilate.

I’ll second this. All you have to do is look and you will see Phoenix turning into LA.

Not intended directly at you hrob but fitting

Maybe include welcome packages for the Kalifornians that include a free complementary rattlesnake and a heat stroke kit.

On second thought, that likely won't work. They'd just push for legislation to outlaw rattlesnakes plus more laws for more so called climate change.

Respectfully disagree. I would love for my two sons and their families to move out of tyranny and into freedom but, as blue collar workers making almost $50 bucks an hour with COL increases every year, three weeks + of vacation, 12 paid holidays/yr, medical coverage, lots of overtime and working toward a pension, there is no way they could duplicate those numbers here. It doesn't even come close to making economic sense.

99% is a big percentage. Only one person out of a hundred is conservative? How do you know this to be true?

I love to wear this shirt while grocery shopping.

Meh. Kind of passive aggressive. But you do you.

When I meet folks who object to Californians moving to Arizona because they bring their "ways" with them, I point out that citizens of a state who kept that monument to nepotism and treason, John McCain, in the Senate for over three decades have precious little to complain about.

The bottom line is, I'm not going to change anyone's mind. If you think "Kalifornians suck!" then nothing I can say will disabuse you of that notion. I don't spend too much time worrying about what people think of me based on where I moved from. When someone asks where I hail from, I simply say: "Southern California and I don't make any apologies for it."

I have quite a few friends that are from CA, some of my closest in fact.
All we ask of newcomers is to vote well, and do your best not to turn AZ into what you fled.

I just tell people I hate everyone that moves here regardless of point of origin, politics, race, creed, etc. Population growth here from 1980-2010 was insane and definitely not on trace with everywhere else. Stop moving to the desert and making us make even more unsustainable infrastructure.

Immigrants get out lol.

I was born in CA and ended up living out there during my school years as a child, I moved to AZ when I was 19. The one thing I got that those soy-sipping pansies don't is values and work ethic. Although I lived in CA I was raised right and raised as a farm boy which kept me from drinking the CA KoolAid. It pains me to see the CA trash moving here, assholes that lived in Moreno Valley, Corona, or other CA trailerpark towns that have no couth and act like listening to Sublime is a lifestyle. I don't go to CA, I have no love for CA, would gladly man the border checkpoint that would keep the blue trash from moving here. CA folks are like Mexicans, they move here to get away from the political/financial mess where they lived, yet have this sick codependency relationship with where they lived....ditch the bitch or go back, but don't come here waxing poetic about how great it is there and how you "go home" every weekend to hang with your friends. Go up north or go to the lake on any weekend and the shitbags driving his boat or SXS at breakneck speed while drinking will more often than not be some CA douchebag enjoying his newfound economic freedom while still acting like a CAltard

Most of all these Commifornians coming, who claim to be 'Conservative' and 'Pro 2A', have as much common sense as Stevefrom29Palms and will fire warning shots in the air like their demi-god Brandon told them to.

It's not just Kalifornistanians, it's all those jackasses from the East Coast as well. Guy at work is from NY, has an NRA sticker on his window. He owns two guns, one he didn't know brand or name, just caliber. Has no idea what the 4 rules were when I asked either. Needless to say, he got an earful from me for bringing his ignorance here 2 years ago, and talking as if it were fact. A NY FUDD gun owner, yea, let's keep them there as well.

He also thinks the Zonies he's met in that short time are lazy. He got another earful.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

Clyde

It's very unfortunate. Queen Creek and San Tan Valley I think are the worst, all the new housing developments here are taken by californians and I see majority of them are democrats.

In other words: "Um, hey guys, (sniffle) I moved from California too but I'm not like them (sniffle). I'm different! So please don't hate me...please... pretty pleeeze?"

I'm embarrassed for you, dude. Get some self awareness - you are who you hate. Instead of this: "It's them, not me!" drivel, stand up for yourself!

America is a free country and people often relocate. Sometimes it's people who are on your side and sometimes it's not. I believe, as a rule, most folks moving to Arizona are political refugees. At least that's what my experience shows me. Everyone I know who has moved or will move out of California is a hard-core conservative and of the Leftists I am acquainted with (not many) none have left California for a red state.

Interesting. Care to elaborate or will the prospect of writing more than one nonsensical sentence be too intimidating?

What evidence do you have that leads you to believe this is true? Are you assuming? And if they are California expats, how would you know a majority of them are democrats? Seriously, how do you know?
