Just my opinion on those looking for 9x19 ammo in trade on this board

Just my opinion: People can ask whatever price or trade they feel like. If nobody thinks it's fair, then nobody will buy or trade.
If somebody offers $100 for 1000 rounds of 9mm, there may be one person who just inherited 1000 rounds of 9mm and does not own a 9mm gun, but who is desperate for $100 right this minute. Or not.
If somebody asks $1000 for 100 rounds of 9mm, there may be one person who is desperate for 9mm right this minute, and to whom $1000 is pocket change. Or not.
Either way, not my concern, so no reason to worry about it.

I was able to reload some 9mm JHP for pre-covid cost,...but factor in my labor,...and there you are, right back at current market prices.

Exactly. I told my dad the other day that I can't afford to shoot 9mm right now. Not because of the price I paid but for the price I would have to pay to replace what I would shoot. I stacked it deep for a reason, I'm not going to undermine my preps for a day at the range.

I have had many people contact the gf asking if I would sell some 9mm, and I told her absolutely not...they need some they can start scouring for ammo like I would have to do if I sold mine

When buying anything a good deal is what everyone looks for.
What is a good deal ?
Many years ago an old horse trader told me
" a good deal is when both parties walk away thinking that they have screwed the other guy. "
I don't necessarily believe in the " screw the other guy " part , but as long as both parties are happy , the only opinions that count are the two that are involved in the transaction.

Seeing as how this post came shortly after my ad looking to trade I assume it is directed toward me. I am younger than many here im sure, wasnt old enough to buy and stock up during or immediately following Clinton or Bush. I started around the Obama era of stacking heavily and got into reloading even.AZ1182 said:

So in response to the above quoted post, yes I can wait it out,and haven't slowed my shooting. However if someone is in NEED of 223 and has a plethora of 9mm, maybe we can strike a deal. If not, no sweat off my back.
When prices come back to normal or slightly above normal like they always do, I will sleep good at night knowing "I didnt get one over the other guy" on a 2 for 1 trade. That is partially why I feel a 1 for 1 trade at this point is closer to "getting one over on the other guy." History always repeats itself.
