If it wasn't for the Commodore 64 I had in the early 80s as a child (which I still have....) I would not be nowhere near as successful as I have been as the skills I learned that accompanied my gaming hobby throughout the years set me on a pretty interested life path that I am very fortunate for.
For every 1 person that fits your "stereotype" there are 10 people where an interest in gaming lead to other skills that allowed them to be successful.
(I edited my original novel down to this for the sake of those who don't like to read....lol)
It's annoying that you have to waste time trying to explain this to a frustrated boomer who just can't let anyone enjoy anything that is outside what they enjoy.
Most of the games I tend to play are strategy and cRPGs which is great for tactics and analyzing real time info.
There is a man child demographic dudes he is referring to but I don't see that in our community. People are too busy doing other shit to worry.
What's that Sun Tzu qoute "If you know yourself and your enemy you need not fear the outcome of a hundred battles."
