Secondhand info from the detective since I was the lab geek and not there. The bad guy took two rounds almost simultaneously. The first was a 12 gauge bean bag (less lethal) round that had the bad luck (bad guy's perspective) of hitting him in the eye and consequently destroying it. The single .50 Beowulf round fired hit the bad guy in one of his legs (don't remember which) and blew out a significant portion of his femur (think Civil War Mini'e ball). The bad guy survived but his leg had to be amputated on top of losing an eye to the bean bag round. The quote of the day from the detective was, "I was thinking I should buy the guy a parrot since he basically got turned into a pirate."

I’m very happy the fake paramedic didn’t get killed. I am also very happy with the devastating wound he suffered to his arm.

He will have to live with that for the rest of his life. He will constantly be reminded of his stupidity daily and I’m sure regret has settled in almost immediately. Death would have been easy on him. He doesn’t deserve easy and he won’t have easy for the rest of his life.
