NO ONE! ever said the AR and its derivatives was not an effective weapon. I think EVERYONE on this board will wholeheartedly agree it is a useful tool. Some guys may prefer other battle rifles or other calibers but .. no one will say I wouldn't rather have a rifle under the circumstances the Wisconsin patriot found himself in.

What was argued .. but you cant let it go .. was whether it was the most effective tool while seated behind a steering wheel, buckled in for you own safety, as a mob tried to yank you from you vehicle. What was argued was whether that enhanced firepower could be brought to bare in one particular situation.

I read that the shooter was a 17-year-old kid that was with family members, but that he got separated from his group by the attackers. Whatever his age, I thought he showed great restraint only popping off one round when he was on the ground and that guy was coming at him with a gun.
