The soon to be released Bronco reincarnation (reminiscent of the 66-77 Bronco) and targeted at the Jeep Wrangler is firmly based on the Ranger platform, so perhaps this F150 based test mule shows plans to also bring out a version more along the lines of the old full sized Bronco as well. After all Ford is well known for doing things in small, medium and large... e.g. Escape, Explorer and Expedition.
If they do it looks like they are avoiding going down the same road as GM did with the abomination that is the current guardian of the "Blazer" name in their product line.

What do we have here? Some sort of Ford prototype of a vehicle that definitely does not exist in production: A short-cab, short-bed F-150 in Raptor guise. We have no idea what this test mule is, but it sure as hell looks like a full-size Bronco.
