Anybody have any favorite indoor ranges? I'm thinking about biting the bullet and starting to shoot indoors, even though I prefer not too. With the ranges and forest closures, what's a guy to do with all this freaking ammo.

I abandoned Ted's a long time ago and shoot weekly at C2 Tactical in Tempe. Very nice people, great range and good R.O.s

I got a personalized tour of the Scottsdale C2 by the Marketing and membership manager. Nice place.

If you don't mind a drive, I like Copperstar in camp verde. 100 yard indoor! People are nice too.

Are you still doing squads?

If so, Do you ever need people?

The indoor ranges I know about are Caswell's and C2.
They run about $20 / hour.
For long term commitment, if you find one you like, most people try to join a membership program. Either a Group (squad) or Family/ Individual.

The new C2 off Scottsdale road is close to me. Anybody been there?

Yep I have been shooting there for a couple of years. Good place. Better than SGC. Costs a little more but good people. They aways try to help you, non hinder you. Good RO's. Young guys who chat to themselves about their weekend dates. Good stories.

I signed up for a membership a couple of weeks ago since I live close to the Scottsdale location, and so far so good. It's a pretty nice range as far as indoor ranges go. The only bummer is that I think they closed every other lane right now with the social distancing, so the lanes get filled up quickly. You have to reserve the lanes a little ahead of time, or you might have to hang out a while if you do a walk in.

Indoor ranges are REAL loud even with double ear pro for me. Stopped going a few years ago.

I can relate. Definitely not as nice as shooting outdoors, but sometimes a necessary evil. I took a rifle to C2 a couple of weeks ago to test out a trigger I worked on, but the rifle had a muzzle brake. I made the mistake of loading up a full 30 round mag, and it took everything in me to finish it off. The noise was really loud (with one layer of ear pro), and the percussion from the muzzle blast bouncing off the walls made it feel like I was getting smacked in the face every round I fired. Truly, an unpleasant experience.

Need to test fire my rifle, does anyone know if Shooters world allows AK's, and if so any restriction on fmj ammo. thx Doc

Went to C2 today and they allow FMJ just not steel core ammo.

Not too bad with ear plugs and muffs as it wasn't too busy. Then a guy next to the wall and me started shooting his AR which reminded me why I don't like shooting indoors.

But, I did like the fact that I got to shoot and the AC was cranked so high, I was actually getting cold with my short pants on. Kinda pleasant that way.

Me and junior shot our fill in the hour we had. He even told me it made him realize he needed more practice. Plus we got rid of some of my ammo and I didn't care how much he shot.

They had all the lanes open today as the restaurants are starting to open up. I do like the brand new facilities over there. As an added bonus, got to go to the golf store next door and get some grips installed. Kinda weird shopping like a normal person again.

I've been running a squad at C2 for around 7 years and still do it.

I don't ever NEED people as I get enough volunteers and don't lose many people, but I take them on if they want to join.

Yeah, like I said, it was extremely unpleasant shooting my rifle with a muzzle brake installed, but it's nice to have an indoor range closeby to get in regularly and stay current with handguns. Normally, they keep the rifles and handguns more separate, but they temporarily closed one of the ranges at Scottsdale C2 due to a fire. I don't know if that has been rectified yet.

If you can get in a squad at C2 it's $150 a year. There are plenty of squads and Gena at C2 will probably get you connected with one that is ready to renew. You only have to deal with the squad at renewal. Mine renews in June sometime.

The first couple of times at an indoor was weird but then it became normal. I do like to go outdoor shooting but for convenience indoor is nice. The RO's have been good, observant but not hyper. C2 makes an effort to separate pistol only from rifle and pistol.

I see a muzzle brake HP rifle set up next to me and I'm gone. Unpleasant is an understatement

anything wrong with ted's shooting range?

I like Ted's and have been going there probably 3 years two or three times a month. They just opened a new place and its clean, well lite and nicely ventilated. Counter people are always friendly.

I go to an indoor range to shot not shop so while they have a fair selection of guns and swag it's a little on the high side but it is at most ranges.

Caswells is far closer to me and the people were great but the range was dark and i just didnt enjoy shooting there so i make the trip to teds.

I would recommend you give them a shot. Everyone has different expectations but I really like shooting there.
