Remember, it's snow bird season now. We have every sort of driver on the road.

Those who only drive on rural roads in Yakama.
Those who drive only on crowded aggressive freeways.
Those who don't use blinkers.
Those who think turning left can be done from any lane.
Those who stop when the light is green.
Those who find their phone more interesting than the road.
Those with their thumbs up their...

lol, and here i thought the autobahn was here in az. i drive like it is, i put on 150 to 200 miles some days, thruout the valley, nothing surprises me any more, drivers just get stupider as time goes on. Arizona Law also says 65 is the max. Again, I never said anything about just the left lane specifically...in fact, it happens in all lanes. So the slower driver moves to the right...and still someone is right behind, tailgating and driving like a nut...and the slower driver (even doing 65) moves to the right again...and STILL someone tailgates and flashes lights, acting like an azzhole. Even in the far right lane it happens.

Now, if I am in the left lane and someone comes screaming up, then yea, I move over...but if I'm not in the left lane then they can KMA.

Sorry, Doc, but it's 75. There are a number of places where that's posted in Arizona.

I set my cruise on 75 on the freeway and drive in whatever lane i want. Regardless if im driving my SS1LE Camaro or my Jeep Wrangler. If your coming up behind me and im too slow pass me, that's how it works, i'm not required to get out of your way... I will do the same if i think your holding me up.

You're one of the idiots that makes driving up to the mountains from Phoenix a nightmare every weekend. 5 miles of cars piled up behind you, miles of open road in front of you, and you're too stupid to move over and let people pass.

Entitled little snowflake... "but my mommy says I can drive in whatever lane I want."

I was talking to one of my wife's friends husband yesterday. I brought up how crazy it is on the 60 these days. He said he just sits in the left lane and runs 55. He said if they try to go around him he speeds up. I said why? He said why should I let them break the law. WTF this Dem is talking the law into his own hands. He said yup.

That's ridiculous. With the growing road rage issues reported on the roads these days, that guy is putting himself at serious risk. I also wonder if he'd be labeled an antagonizer in a court case for causing the unsafe condition and triggering an incident. It's not his job to police the interstate and what has happened to driver etiquette? Left lane is a passing lane. If you've got tons of people behind you, move over. It's so frustrating driving to Payson or Flagstaff and having both lanes blocked because some jerk is matching the speed of the person in the right lane.

Nothing on road surprises me. I haven't drive as long as you folks though.

Courtesy driving goes a long way. Whether low or high speed. These drivers are easily spotted as far as your eyes can see. Plenty of time to have driving adjusted before they'd even get close to you.

Actually AZ Law is based not on a maximum but what is "reasonable & prudent".
According to section 28-701 of Arizona law "No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent considering the traffic, roadway and weather conditions."
That is why they used 11 mph over the speed limit before issuing camera speeding violations.
So, actually in a 65 zone you can go 75 and in a 75 you can push 85mph.

When it was changed to 75 I recall there being a statement that there would be no "buffer" in those zones. Granted, they don't enforce it...thankfully.

Reasonable and Prudent eh?

Funny story, true story too.

I tried that arguement on a judge when I was 18. I think the speed limit might still have been 55 then. I got caught going nearly criminal over and told the judge up in the flag area it was a clear bright day, the road was straight and empty and I was driving a car with new tires and brakes in perfect working order and I felt it was reasonable prudent and safe.

He sided with DPS and laughed and said for the effort of coming all the way back up here and practicing your arguement I'll still let you do traffic school or pay the fine and get your points.

Thank god there were no court fees back then. That i can remember and traffic school was only 65 bucks or so.

"Not based on a maximum'...?? What world is that in? LOL....yea, keep reading:

28-702. State highway speed limits

A. If the director determines on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that any maximum speed limit is greater or less than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist on any part of a state highway, the director may determine and declare a reasonable and safe maximum speed limit or varying speed limits for the location.

B. The maximum speed limit determined pursuant to this section is effective when appropriate signs giving notice of the maximum speed limit are erected.

C. The director may declare a maximum speed limit that is determined pursuant to this section to be effective at all times or at such times as indicated on the speed limit signs. The director may establish varying speed limits for different times of day, different types of vehicles, varying weather conditions and other factors bearing on safe speeds. The varying limits are effective when posted on appropriate fixed or variable signs.

+10 mph.
Oh, and if someone is passing on the right, move over.

My prius won't do 125. Only 93mph. I do move over for faster drivers. But I have worn out 3 horns trying to get idiots to move over.
Yes I have had it up to 93, on the way back from Lala land on I-10.

I believe there has been some serious law breaking or should I say neglect in our country. Back in the day it was taking very seriously, getting your license that is. As a 15 and 1/2 year old couldn't wait to get my license and be free of being tied down at the house. We even have a class on high school that was drivers ed. Now Illegal aliens can get their license and who cars about rules? Hell they cant even read English. Society today is all about appeasing each other so no one gets their feelings hurt :icon-rolleyes: and cant find their safe space. The rules are rules for a reason. They keep people safe. Road ediquite is long gone. You have to have drivers who.know just what the hell it means first.

What I find annoying is when a car is driving slow coming up to a passing lane then as you are trying to pass them they speed up. OY VEY!

You know I know I will get a lot of slack from you young pups over this. But when you go to get on the highway it's your job to get up to speed and get into traffic. It's not the job of the people on the highway to let you in. It's just a curious that the people on the highway give if they want.
