Well sounds like the decision is made then. I have shot gen3 for a long time and while I like the gen4 is nice with the grip modularity it’s not really a big enough draw for me to care.AZ1182 said:So I saw both a gen 3 and a gen 4 17 today. The gen 3 while several bucks cheaper, the grip felt like I was holding a slippery handle while the gen 4 felt normal but was not a fan of the finger grooves on either.
I really want a Gen 5, I've held and shot a friend's gen 5 17, it was very nice. The 19's though, all three gens was very awkward to hold. But either a G21 or a G20 gen 4 doesn't bother me. Also got to check out a G43X, it felt just right and like it was made for my hands actually.
You have some SERIOUS personality defects, man.AZ1182 said:YMMV holds no water, sample size doesn't prove anything but the visuals in that video is actually what happened. I don't know you, but I know what I saw in that video. Please don't turn this into a pissing match, I like Glocks too but I'm a realist and we should all be fair and impartial.lostdog99 said:I have had a few gen 3's. The only one I had problems with was the one I swapped out parts on. My G34 . . Out of the box, no cleaning before or during. No lube the whole time. Shot 2000 rnds without problem. YMMV.
I also shot the hell out of my gen 2 (bought it in 1990) with no problems (it was the single pin version). YMMV.
And +1 for what the previous post said. If you can, shoot it on the range first before you buy. You won't be sorry.
And I've BTDT with shooting Glocks, not my first rodeo. We should all treat each other as such unless made known that we haven't.
I plan on breaking in and making sure that my brand new 17 gen 5 is good to go, just waiting on more magazines to show up before committing to it.

I was gonna comment on the thread, then decided against it. Provoking the OP just isn't amusing anymore....then....he started in.delta6 said:Rock Hardson said:You have some SERIOUS personality defects, man.

Move on, it's way past time that you did and it should have been obvious that I don't allow myself to get baited anymore. And it's Saturday, do something better with yourselves than looking for false drama to be a part of, like the sophomoric personality disorders that you three have habitually shown.
