We need you to turn in your arms

I laughed at all the idiots heralding the "new" 2A friendly Ukraine - while not realizing that they weren't just throwing guns into the streets - but anyone "issued" a firearm was legally required to give it back whenever the government said so, or be a criminal. This was common knowledge basically everywhere that publishes more than click-bait B.S. headlines that people can't seem to read past these days.

Thinking any country outside of the US is going to reverse decades/centuries of gun control go against the whole "Ruling elite" system they have installed for hundreds of years. Lol.

Yep, this is another test for the Ukrainians.

The only way to pass this test is to say "F@#k off!"

Ok, sure, they likely have a list of who was issued something, and SOMETHING has to be turned back in. But there's a LOT of scattered stuff just laying around. And if every single Ukrainian isn't stashing that schit under the barn somewhere, they're too stupid to be free.

When the Yugoslavian war kicked off in the 90's, old captured German WW2 weapons came out of the woodwork, literally. At least some Yugos had a sense of history and knew they would be needed again.

The Ukrainians are getting enough foreign volunteers now that they are able to constitute entire units of same nationality and language;...all the better that they can work cohesively. This is an entire group of Finns, who felt when Finland was threatened by Putin needed to join up now, rather than wait for Finland to join NATO. They have all been issued ARs, which is funny, since Finns are used to Valmets and would adapt to the AK well. The guy with the belt-fed appears to have an FN/MAG.

And here we have (I'll call her Val) with a VAL.

Here is one of the Donetsk breakaway separatists fighting with the Russians in Mariupol, armed with an old PPSh41.

Here is a stash of stay-behind mayhem toys the Russians left in a cache in Sumy for local separatists to use for behind the lines trouble-making. Concealable grenades, pistols and ammo;...stuff one can hide on their person while walking about.

They could send me that treasure chest of makarovs as ill dispose of them :). This was has been very interesting indeed, not since ww2 has this type of stuff happened. Exciting times but i hope Russia is destroyed!

Ukraine apparently not only bought Savage Stealth BA rifles for sniper applications, but Savage MSR15 rifles were also sold commercially, as you see here. This one, next to a CZ Bren2, also has a Bushnell red dot.

This is Semyon Pegov, one of Putin's social media influencers and supposed "journalist". He goes by the handle "War Gonzo" on Twitter and elsewhere. If you want to get only the official Russian perspective of things, he's one of the key hacks you can follow if you are so inclined. Here he is with a PPSh41 in Donblast at local training range.

This is the first ASh 12.7 I've seen in the wild. It fires a .50 caliber subsonic straight-wall cartridge called the 12.7x55. Notice how large the suppressor is.

Here's a sign of U.S. weapons reaching Ukraine;...M2 .50 BMG systems are beginning to populate Ukrainian machines. Usually captured Russian vehicles that are repaired and turned against their former owners.

More Belorussian volunteers, this group has a mix of FN SCAR-16Ls, AK74s and a Dragunov.

Here is a display of an assortment of ordnance, mines, rockets and various explosive nasties that currently litter the Ukrainian countryside and cityscapes. Informational displays like this are being put together is every still functioning school in order to educate kids to not touch these dangerous things and to identify them in case they encounter them while searching through rubble or playing in the woods. This will be a problem for years to come.

Man that's a lot of shots without a move or at least backing out of window. Training maybe? Any background other than what it shows?

The DPR guys are essentially a bunch of good ol' boys the Russians are happy to supply with obsolete weapons so they can harass the Ukrainians and just keep them occupied. They're not known for tactical skill.

I certainly wouldn't want my pu pointed my direction from someone who knows what to do. Granted the ww2 scope is coarse by today's standards but it is definitely minute of man and 54r isn't a small hole...
