So how far away does the 7.62x39 round have to be coming from to be stopped by your phone in your pocket?

It can be a little difficult to see here, but the guy on the right has a very rare and uncommon AK15 (the 7.62 version of the AK12) which the Russians made only a very few of, by comparison, for specialist issue, usually to special forces who still occasionally justified the need for a 7.62 variant. These guys are posing with Lituanian-donated gear.

These are well-used Ukrainian rifles policed up by the Russians in Mariupol after the Marines surrendered due to running out of ammunition.

Here is a bunch of American dudes and one Norwegian woman,...all part of the international brigade of volunteers. Because there were so many Americans in this particular detachment, they were quickly nicknamed "The Dirty Dozen", which is a reference to how many spoke English. The Norwegian, Sandra, who's face is not covered because she has already publicly interviewed with the international press, is one of their qualified snipers. Most of the Americans have been able to get useful tech gadgets sent from home, and the unit has used these to trade up from their AK74s they were initially issued to the new CZ Bren-2s and an Accuracy International.

Another Barrett, but this one is using the BORS system.

Here's a dude with a variant of the FN Minimi I've not seen before. Judging from how new it looks, it likely was in the batch of donated stuff from FN that included the 5000 FNC rifles. Is it a new model, or a contract overrun, or maybe a special version contracted for but never delivered? I've searched through picture archives, but have been unable to find another picture of this exact variant.

Everybody loves .50 rifles

Rosgvardia Spetsnaz in Kherson sporting “ISIS Hunters” patch. This doesn’t = Wagner as some in replies suggest, but is interesting in terms of symbols and culture in Russian mil. Notice the quad-stack magazine.

This marksman has an unknown rifle behind him, but the barrel nut seems to indicate a Savage in a some sort of custom chassis. You can almost make out a logo that looks like MDT's. He also is packing a Makarov in his plate carrier.

This guy seems to just want to pose with the old Degtaryev so he can send the pics home, because his Lancer L5 mags on his chest say his actual main weapon is an AR.

Can't make out whether the rifle is a Tikka or Sako, but the Kryptek camo dip on the scope and rifle go well with his Kryptek camo outfit. Slavs always be stylin'.

From the Chechen line, an AK205 (similar to the AK12, but merely an upgrade of the AK74, retrofitted with AK12 features) and a GM-94 pump-action grenade launcher.

Canadian sniper Wali is still stealthily stalking slav slimeballs, shooting several serially, successfully, in secret sector. Sheeeeeiiiiiiiit!

At a weapons collection/distribution point in Kherson. Notice the Azov Battalion dude has an SKS slung on his back.

I've been waiting to see if any of these were in the war. This is the rare RP46, a belt-fed conversion of the pie-pan magazine Degtaryev DPM. It uses the same belts as the Goryunov SG43. The same belts were carried over to the PK and PKM. But if you've ever put trigger time in on a PK/PKM, you'll notice the belt is upside-down. Both the Goryunov and RP46 feed from the belt that way. Actually, the PK/PKM has it upside-down.

Here is a Russian soldier with 2 Russian sniper systems. The big green one is an ASVK-M Kord in 12.7x108 (the Russian .50) and the other is an SV98m in 7.62x54R.

Despite the primary rifle seen in theater is the AK74 by a huge margin, a lot of old school 7.62 Cold War era early variants are still barking at the dogs of war, like this milled paratrooper model, probably from the late 50s or early 60s.

Slightly unrelated to the theme of this thread,...but screw it,...I think its cool,...the most popular graffiti in Ukraine right now. (Probably just one or two Americans running around doing it all.)

Another MP5 in theater. The Ukrainian border police had these in inventory, so this could be one of those.

Here are a bunch of Israelis who have joined the international volunteers. As is typical for foreigners, they have been issued donated FN SCAR rifles.

Here's a couple of volunteers from Brazil and Portugal, with all new donated gear. British body armor, German helmets, Polish war reserve 7.62 paratrooper AKMs. Look how brand spanking new those rifles are. Absolutely unissued til now.

Here are some of the Ukrainian Marines of Mariupol who have been holding out. This pic was taken weeks ago, before they had to hunker down in the catacombs.

President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, visited Borodyanka, Ukraine, where the Russians had vacated recently. He had his own Polish Special Forces bodyguard detachment with him. They're the guys in blue jeans with automatic weapons. In this case, an FN Minimi.

And this Polish SF dude has his M4gery, complete with bronze receiver, bronze ACOG with reflex red dot on top, laser designator and weapon light. More Lancer L5 mags.

Notice the only AK in evidence is held by the Ukrainian guy.

The French has sent Gendarmerie investigators to Bucha to record war crimes for future prosecutions at The Hague. Rather than take their own weaponry into Ukraine, they were outfitted once there. This French Gendarme has what appears to be a heavily commercialized 7.62 AK with a side folding stock, extended mag release along the triggerguard, modified safety lever, rubberized pistol grip, extended bolt handle, railed top cover, vented handguard, mounted weapon light and 75-round drum.

Here's a policeman in Mykolayiv keeping watch with a CZ UK59.

Lieutenant Ken Rhee, former UDT / SEAL operator of S.Korea is currently fighting against Russia as part of the Ukrainian Foreign Legion. He has a CZ Bren2 rifle.

Another AR10. This dude seems to be sporting a subdued US flag patch upsidedown, but with the star field leading. Accident? Or is it intentional? Hmmmmm.

Another happy Bren2 shooter.
