He's brash but he's right.
Funny thing- I was just listening to a very recent interview of someone who's philosophies I hold in high regard (Claude Werner- The Tactical Professor)
On this subject, one of the latest "Claudeisms" to come forth was "it's easier to sell a tangible, than it is to sell an intangible, just ask any insurance salesman. Knowledge, intellectual property and things of that nature are intangibles."
I directly relate training to intangibles. I haven't figured out how to get people to realize what this guy says....get what works for you and train with it, and forget all the other gadgets and sparkly bullspit, is what works. Hell I was a victim of it for some time. Having said that, I'm still a fan of red dots for aging eyes, but you should still know the fundamentals (iron sights) when (not if) that red dot takes a sh!t.
Some martial artist once said, "I would rather practice one technique a thousand times, than practice a thousand techniques one time."
I fear the man who has one Hi-Point, and knows how to use it.
This minimalist attitude is what people seek, and it's up to us responsible gun owners to educate people, and help them.
Back on track, I totally believe the interviewee when he says "I've been in places in this world, that the worst neighborhood in this country can't hold a candle to." or something like that.
