I left Seattle about a year ago.
The sad part about this is that.. if you live in Seattle....It does not seem strange.
The area that this is located is an area that is always in the news for one thing or other. It is the traditional Gay area of the city but has been changing over the past few years. The Mayor is from this area.
The avowed socialist (communist) council member (Sawant) represents this area.

Seattle is a really unlivable place for a conservative or even a moderate.
Really sad.
