The one on the right is a .22LR
The one on the left is a .22 short
The one in the middle, I cannot identify.

I found it in the dirt at the PG&R range. There was another shooter there that said he knew what it was and tried to explain it to me but it went in one ear and out the other. If I didn't know better I would say it was a "frankenbullet" made by someone just to drive me crazy, but he was sure what it was. The case is the same size as a .22 short but the bullet is longer than that of the .22LR.

The mark on the bottom of the case is an "A".

Ok, gang, what is it?

“The right to keep and bear ignorance shall not be infringed.”

Those are cartridges, not “bullets”.

Just because you ARE "That Guy" doesn't mean you have to BE "that guy". You must be a small, insignificant man if you amuse yourself by being a contrarian and trying to make others feel stupid.

Whatever floats your undeserved ego, I guess.

LOL... Yup...

I've got to chime in with two thing...
1) I thought the same thing that "That Guy" said (but suppressed my snarky comment)...
2) I then thought - "I guess he could be trying to ID the gynormeous "bullet" sitting on top of that 22 short case in the middle.

I've got to admit - I've been "that guy" (lower case) a time or two when I hear people talking about "slapping another clip into their gun" (and it is clear that they are not talking about loading their M1 Garand, or driving 5.56 rounds off of a stripper clip into their magazine)... :-)

And because I could not help myself... I decided that I needed to look these up - and thought I'd share the link with you all - for those who may or may not have a suppressed .22 :-)

They used to (maybe still do) make the same thing in a 40 grain. They’re in a 22 short case and don’t feed well because the bullet isn’t as long as this version, but no suppressor is required out of a bolt rifle in the back yard. Just click-thump.

Be careful shooting that round out of a 16" or longer 22lr...especially with a suppressor. Very easy way to get a baffle strike.

Ok "That Guy". You got me. I finally used the wrong terminology in one of my inquiries that got your motor running. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. There's another word I often time misuse, maybe you can help me, it's the word "prick."

The ammo is a great concept. But unfortunately, you need a faster twist rate barrel than most .22LR guns have. As a result, some guns are able to stabilize these projectiles and others are not. Its a crap shoot to see if they work in yours or not.

A few weapons have the capacity to change barrels, like the 10/22, and replacement barrels with a proper twist are available for those. But damned few offer that. And while the re-barrelled 10/22 might shoot it straight, it might not cycle it.

The conversions of AR15s tend to shoot these straight because the twist rate is usually correct, since they are 1-9 or 1-7, but cycling can be an issue.

I'd love to find something like the old Marlin Papoose take-down rifle, but in bolt-action with a 1-9 twist and threaded barrel. Then when combined with the SSS ammo, it'd be a nice quiet packable plinker that wouldn't be 20% reduced in power just because of the necessity to reduce velocity.

Yeah, yeah, yeah-but can you send me a nasty private message so I can hit 100? You thin skinned snowflakes wouldn’t lasted five minutes as a grunt. Oh, and if you think I’m a pedantic contrarian I’d have loved to see your face when Jeff Cooper looked thru you-not at you, and took you to task for confusing “stocks” with “grips”, “clips” with “magazines” AND “bullets” with “cartridges”.

PS-You flatter me but I can’t make anybody stupid, only God can do that-but I CAN point it out.
