ATF flagging people through Motor Vehicles

I don't answer any questions about firearms over the phone unless I make the call and I am calling an individual, not a representative through an automated attendant or receptionist. If it is that important, they can visit and show me I.D. or write a letter on official letterhead asking me to visit them.

This^^^
Same advice should also be applied to all unsolicited email received.
For me, I don't even answer the telephone when I don't recognize the number.

It's what I do also.
 
I only have a work cell phone. I don't answer unknown local numbers, or toll free.

If it's from Texas, it's likely a customer in need of assistance..
 
It seems to me not cooperating with the ATF is a big mistake especially when lowers are so cheap. He may win the battle but will probably loose the war. I had one encounter with the ATF back when Inter Ord was selling PPSh kits. They called me up and wanted the grunion. The agent came to my house from Flagstaff. Really nice guy and a gun lover. Had a nice conversation with him and I gave it to grunion.
 
Here's something nobody's mentioned so far. When someone calls you and says they're ATF how do you know they are?

The answer is that you don't. They could be anybody so either don't answer or tell them to show up with I.D.

It reminds me of my days running communications and security for the Rodeo Parade at a small town I used to live in. When i got word from my people that the parade was ready to go, I'd radio the people I had at each end of the Avenue and tell them to shut the avenue down for the parade. There were highway patrol guys at each end with my people to do it officially.

One day one of the patrol guys decided to question my authority and got on the radio and asked me if I had the authority to shut down the Avenue. I told him of course I did or I wouldn't have given the order. He closed it down.

He was an idiot. Anybody can say they have the authority. The same thing applies here.

How did I know my guy was ATFE? He said certain key words that only I new and the guy that had the FFL new. He had knowledge of certain things that were happening that only 2 people knew at the time.
 
Not having a Bill of Sale won't keep your privacy. If the buyer or seller contacted you through text, phone or email, police can trace it. Some sellers even take a pic of your license plate during or after the transaction. Bottom line is that you can't hide from today's technology.

..and when they put your two phones together in the same parking lot at the same time? GPS tracking sucks. Either way, they've got another person to interrogate.

Doesn't matter, because they're still going to come knocking and you're still going to have to deal with the hassle.

NO, not 'like me', but I've had it happen. You assume too much. I don't care about your license plate. Scum bag? What the hell is your problem? I've sold plenty of guns and ammo to members here without any problems at all, even gave you a decent price on that 10/22 you bought, I've been supportive of the community, even organized a few OC dinners back when we had them.
