I went to Armslist today and couldn't read the descriptions on the adds.
They are now blurring out the description of the item , and in order to see it you have to have an account with them.
Apparently they caught on to people posting phone numbers on their adds so anyone could contact them.
I guess they want to make sure they are making money on anyone that views their site.

I saw that, and it costs just to have a membership. I was looking for a rifle for my son in law. This ain’t no peep show!
And you can’t see your Christmas presents early.

Must be for newer members only? I have had a (free) account there for a while, and can see listings just fine. I think I am limited to 4 listings of my own at a time. I can't use their messaging system to make inquiries, but I can receive messages on any ads I have up.

Honestly, with the number of anti-gunners and lawyers coming after them on a daily basis, I am surprised that their membership fee isn't $500/month, just to keep the lights on...

I have bought quite a few items on Armslist over the last year. While not a member I thought I was helping the sight by purchasing from those who have paid to advertise their ads (and put their contact info in the description). I would think that by doing what they are doing they are hurting the members by limiting the viewers but apparently they can stay in business. I know if I paid to have a membership, and they limited the viewing customers to only members, I would be a little pissed. But, I'm not a member, so adios Armslist.

They sure are going out of their way to destroy their business.

It only takes a free account to view the ads, but it's still an idiotic choice.

Folks smartened up and started putting contact info in the description.

If you haven't already checked it out, Guns Arizona Classifieds is a fantastic free alternative. I don't want to put any links because I don't want to break any forum rules, but look it up and you will find it.
