I've noticed the dramatic shift over the last 5+ years as these locusts migrate to AZ. I'm saddened it will never again be the great place where I grew up.

Agreed. I noticed it in the valley, shifting slighting since I was a young teenager. Then from 2008'ish to 2017 it changed dramatically. From 2016 until now I've been in the Prescott area, and this place has been changing radically as well.

Lots of Bernie bumper stickers and California license plates.

i've watched it change in cycles, in the 60-70s it was the east of the mississippi idgits, then it was the midwest idgits, and since the mid 80s been the west coast a holes.
it is and will be a matter of time till Free Arizona will be a thing of the past, sure glad i grew up and lived here during its best times.

It's everywhere.

I grew up in Alaska and it used to be the greatest place around.

Now it's been overwhelmed with the Free Shiat Army mainly because there are a ton of jobs that you work 4 months or so and then collect unemployment for the rest of the year. FSA people love that.

Arizona is substantially better at this time and probably for the forseeable future.

"Mr. Jordan’s place, which he and his wife bought for $480,000, has a monthly mortgage payment only slightly higher than their rent in Redwood City."

I'll never be able to afford a home here in Arizona.

"He grew up as a Democrat, and like many Californians who move to Arizona, he initially felt strange in a place where people fly Trump flags and many stores post an open-carry firearm policy."

"“The gun thing is a little shocking, and I’m definitely a Democrat on social things like gay rights,” he said. "

Bet your last dollar they will turn this place into California 2.0.
Sick of this shit ruining Arizona.

That's why I try to open carrying empty pistol most of the time in Scottsdale. But I also have my loaded IWB.

Even Idaho and Montana are heading this way. We are still better off than some places but the climate is changing and where do we go?

Right. I've thought about this too. We can assume there are 3 types of states, Type 1: solid blue, Type 2: red going blue, and Type 3: solid purple.

No states are staying red, so I don't even consider that 4th type.

Blue states are bad, and I don't want to live in one. Since all types are on a solid blue trajectory, then I want to be in the last state that goes solid blue.

The thing that makes states turn solid blue is people. All the states that have been predominately red are getting an influx of liberals due to a strong local economy, job market, low taxes, and affordable homes (when compared to solid blue state home prices).

Some of my factors are population density, people moving to the state, cost of living, land availability, and population size.

Even a currently solid purple state will be far more "conservative" than AZ/ID/MT/WY/UT.

Find a rural property, with good acreage, in an area with low population density, in a sparsely populated state, with not a lot of people moving there.

I think that's the best shot.

At the time, that's what Crockett did.

I'm also becoming increasingly anti-city. I think people live in cities for a variety of dumb reasons, without really thinking about the detriments. As we observe things like COVID shutting down cities, and just in time stocking of shelves, we're going to see more and more unsustainable city atmospheres.

With the increase in government control on the populace, this control is always exerted where it's most easily enforced with the most effective outcome. Whenever we try to accomplish or conquer something, we apply an 80/20 rule. What rules/laws/processes/things will work the best for the largest group of whatever. When we deal with that first, then we'll go after the 20 "outliers" or hard cases. In terms of population control, or oppressive rule, cities are where it starts.

It's also worth noting that a cities constitute large groups of people, and whenever people get together in really large groups, the collective IQ averages, and the top of that IQ bracket is thrown out for more base ideas, dumb goals, and unsustainable objectives.

I feel like I could keep going, but at this point feel like I'm rambling.

And the worst thing is that most of these lib's are buying handguns at record paces over the last week or two. It could be very dangerous on any street the greater Phoenix area (and maybe Prescott too). To0 the guy that posted he OC's a "Unloaded handgun" while carrying a Loaded IWB, he needs to make sure both are loaded !!

The comment about libs buying guns...
I think that is true. They are also more inclined to pull it out and either shoot at another lib or get themselves shot by a gun owner who knows how to use their weapon. Either way they may cleanse the gene pool in the process....

From my experience you're right. Every liberal I've known fairly well has told me they don't own a gun because when they get mad they'd pull it out and start shooting. I don't think they were kidding.

I used to open carry for convenience if I needed to go somewhere quick and not think a thing of it. People would comment but it would always be cordial/friendly/curious. Now it's accusatory comments or glares.

It's funny. I live in Ahwatukee and I can't remember the last time I saw anyone open carrying outside LEOs. Granted many may just carry concealed but I'd really like to see a return to open carry to make a point about the reality that guns are commonplace and many of us have them.

I see your point but don't you think it also puts an unnecessary "target" on your back? Anything from a "real threat" to the pissed off anti-gunner who's going to key your car the moment you walk into the Costco?

I haven't been back home in 5 years, but this is making me seriously reconsider seeking employment in AZ next year when I start looking. Maybe Alabama.

Actually we just got screwed by Governor Douche, so there’s that.

If you’re talking about what he put out today, there’s nothing new (other than requesting that people stay home).

There is nothing to restrict any freedom of movement, in fact it specifically says that no one needs to prove where they’re going to law-enforcement or any other reason. Really he’s just requesting that people stay home unless it’s for something essential. That could include work, shopping, and anything else that is needed for your family. It is a very broad statement and not concerning to me at all.

🍿 for responses....😀

Yes, I agree, doesn't seem like much has changed. They pretty much shut everything down already. The campgrounds are full and the lake is swamped, so I wonder if they will close that down. People have their campers set up out in the desert almost everywhere, so do they have to go home.

The main range at Ben Avery is closed but the Clay Target Center is open to 30 people at a time if you queue up for the alloted time slots. Any word on Rio Salado, figured it was closed as well. But hey, golf is still good.

Also heard they were going to close down take out food, which seems weird. But these are weird times.
