A very cool holster!

Been rewatching all the old TV shows and am currently doing Adam 12. Great show and all 7 seasons are available on freevee. Around season 5 or so the guys started using some sort of clamshell type holster. Was weird and nothing I would have noticed as a kid watching the show.

Kept searching for it just to see what it was and found it.

My recollection (which could easily be wrong) is that the patent ran out and they had to then start competing with other big police leather gear manufacturers like Jay Pee and Bianchi, which was a large reason of what did the company in.

But another element is that this happened right around the time in the early 80s when law enforcement began switching over to autos, which had everyone re-evaluating carry systems.
