Basically, just shut up and wait for a lawyer. Once you start talking, choosing to stop talking in the middle of it - answering some questions but not others - can be used to infer deception on questions avoided or left unanswered. ESPECIALLY if/when you testify on the stand. Once you open your mouth, choosing to strategically shut it later, CAN be used against you.
