Very interesting piece. I'd always been a fan of his writings and had corresponded with him back in the eighties. I'd tried to meet up with the man as I was through his Deming stomping grounds a few times back then but never managed to meet him. Deming, New Mexico, where he'd retired after he finished his law enforcement career and was writing full time, was on my route to Arizona before I moved here.

Anyway, when Skeeter died in 1988, I knew his family had sold off some of his things but I was under the impression that his son, Bart, had kept most of his stuff including his many guns and gun related items. It would be nice to have if it were reasonably priced although its significance is likely lost on younger handgunners. I'm sure it must be a little hard for younger shooters these days to appreciate the influence that good gun writers, like Skeeter, had in those pre-internet days.

I've got a few of his books and those are pricey enough. Guess I'll have to pass on this one.

I loved to read skeeter, and to some extent his son too but dayme that is a hefty price. There must be more rich folk out there than I thought.

If they got the manuscript down to the several hundred dollar range it would sell but they're still not trying that hard to sell it--they're just fishing.

Written in details..."The article came with a certificate of authenticity signed by Skeeters wife but is not accounted for." Whats that mean????

It means someone lost it so or perhaps it never existed so the writings in question have no provenance.

This means there is no certificate of authenticity.
Basically there is no proof he actually wrote it.
Buy at your own risk.
