60 round straight mag? The compression tension of the spring when fully loaded vs near empty is going to change radically. Semi auto may not malfunction as the mag empties. But if one is running FA? Good chance the BCG is going to outrun the mag at the end.

This is an improvement of the Surefire 60-round mag. Uses two springs, one for more full, one for more empty. Ingenious.

They did not send me a notice that the mags were back in stock, but I went back and checked and they were available. i just ordered one. $46 with shipping. Will test and report back.
Now, would somebody like to lend me some money to buy some ammo to fill the thing? 60 rounds of .223 costs as much as the magazine. How many full mags should I test before pronouncing it GTG?

First impression: extremely difficult to load. I used a MagLULA, and thought it was going to break. Near the end, I had to use the screwdriver blade on a Swiss Army knife to push the top round down for the MagLULA to work. Brutal.
I will probably get a chance to shoot it next week, and will report further.

Stopped in at Scottsdale Gun Club this morning to see if the thing would work.

It worked. 60 times in a row. However:
- Hard to lock in. Really need to smack it.
- Did not lock open after the last shot. Oh well, if I get in a gunfight and go Winchester and I still have a problem, then I probably deserve whatever happens next.

Now the hard part -- loading it again!
