LOL.

Wait, you’re not going to call out violent movies? Boxing? MMA? Rap? Death metal? Comic books? How are these any different?

This has got to be one of the most asinine posts I've ever seen on a 2A forum. Correlation is not causation, or did we miss that 7th grade science class?

"There has got be something wrong with a person to tolerate the mind numbing repetitiveness"

Sounds like something a liberal would say about gun owners.

I guess you're entitled to your opinion, even though it's blatantly false, holds no solid ground, and makes you sound like a grumpy old fudd who can't get his jitterbug flip phone to work.

I believe,...the mentally deficient individuals who can be triggered to social violence by a Video Game,... will find another trigger if Video games are restricted/regulated.

There is no eliminating insanity,... never has been,... never will be,... or, mother earth would be rid of it by now.

The conflicts within the human condition, are eternal,... live with it!

It's not just the violent videogames with their nonstop rage music, filthy language and exploding heads, blasting into these kids minds all day (better than any CIA brainwash experiment, really)...

...our society is infected with a sickness, an obsession for all things dark and evil, anger and death...just flip on any channel, go to any movie...

Tired of it.

They are bad because they are addictive, not doing them causes kids to go into withdraw like they are on drugs, I have witnessed my neighbors boys when they get their consoles taken away from them. They throw violent temper tantrums where they bust up the house so they give in. One neighbor has two useless boys that will go nowhere in life because they couldn't say no to their kids. These same kids are all billy bad asses until you take them to the range and they can't hit shit with their vast gaming experience at 7 yards. All these kids know how to do is play a f***ing game and unless we develop jobs into games they are all useless. Then they get thrown out, start taking heroin to deal with their pain then they go to therapy and the really weak ones get a chemical lobotomy and are now the next mass shooter that really didn't happen. All these games have controlled flicker rates and are like a drug.

Growing up we had video games but nothing like todays games. We were told to turn them off and we did. The games of today are addictive like drugs and to not do them is painful like not having heroin. I see it in my neighbors kids, all they want is their f***ing console, their one son is so addicted he didn't shower for days or eat, pissed in his trash can so he didn't have to leave his room, you can figure what else went in the trash can. Then you hear of the Air Force using video games as recruitment and that the CIA and DARPA are involved in the companies. They are dumbing down entire generations of kids with these mindless games to the point socialism and world government is accepted so they can stay home and play their games and get a few dollars from the government to eat on while living in government housing.

So what has changed? Researchers and game makers figured out a way to addict the youth to their games. It is every bit a addiction just like heroin, their minds need it just like the little receptors for narcotics they found the receptors for flickering light. Now they have their little upset kids that need therapy to make they think they did a mass shooting and then lock them away in prison so they can push their gun control agenda

Seen several people here claim there is no God and then complain when something bad happens. Over the next few years people will learn that our government is controlled by child torturing and raping Satan worshiping scum and so is our media and so is Hollywood. Just wishing Trump would get it done faster as I am tired of waiting. This is all part of a plan to install a one world government as they know they can not do it with a shooting war without destroying the planet they worship.

Video games don't cause violence in real life.
You may be right.

But they are part of a bigger problem that has been pointed out many times here and elsewhere.

My friend lost a live-in girlfriend because he couldn't keep from playing video games 12-16 hours a day. He was surprised when she cheated on him...

You can spin it anyway you want but you can not tell me that when you have little kids playing some of these graphic shoot them up video games that is does not effect them in some way. Especially when that is all they want to do.
I am not saying that they turn good people into murderers , but no good can come from these type of video games.

It's not just video games...They do desensitize people to violence, but so do violent movies. It's also simple lack of human contact. One of the reasons people can be assholes to each other on these boards is because it's not face-to-face. Some of you might talk a big game, but saying shit to a real person, face to face, is a lot different.

These basement dwelling, anti-social murders have spent their lives looking down at screens and not interacting with real people. They don't have simple empathy, respect or connections to real people. Just look at your kids when they forget they are talking to their friends on the xbox vs talking to dad.

I grew up on westerns and war movies. I had guns, like most of you did, at a very early age. I never, ever contemplated anything like what these people do and neither did most of you. But, we had real friends, spent most of our time in school or outside playing. We weren't spending 8 hours a day staring at the screen, were we out playing "war" or "cowboys and Indians" with real people.

EXCELLENT point BASHER !!!

Seems like 90% of the entertainment I try to find, on netflix and prime, have either a weapon and, or, language insinuating violence in the intro.

Parenting is what you need to blame and not video games.

I'm 34 and grew up playing video games, including violent ones on PC and then xbox and playstation, etc. Grew up really loving Counterstrike and I cannot tell you how many hours I played that game.

But growing up I was very involved in outdoor activities even in the summer here in AZ. Played a lot of sports, had a lot of friends, and also had a lot of chores and responsibilities. Video games were my "escape" from life at the end of the day when I had some time to kill vs watching some tv show. With commercials! Haha.

I have zero issues to admit I still play video games to this day, granted now a lot less with 4,14,15 year old, but I still play them and have NEVER wanted/envisioned to use a firearm other than defense of myself or others.

Parents who don't parent their kids properly are the problem. No way am I a perfect parent, but no way in hell am I going to let any of my kids sit and play video games non-stop like it's their job. Get out of the house and get a life kiddo.

My parents aren't even big gun people (3 shotguns, 1 pistol) I found the love of guns myself thru video games and movies, and then finally getting to own/shoot/train with them kinda made it come full circle.

Just my opinion.

I don't know how many hookers/cops/innocent bystanders I’ve killed in GTA V, but’s it’s A LOT. Never killed anyone in real life. Video games don’t make you violent, spoons don’t make you fat.

RE: moral panic. As a youth, my mother always “pre-screened” movies and such. She swore up and down, based on trailers and reviews, that Bruce Almighty was sacrilegious, and that Harry Potter glorified witchcraft and black magic. Turns out, after actually seeing both, that these were great movies. Moral panic, indeed!

To top things off, my playing video games, violent and otherwise, kept me from doing drugs and a whole host of other stupid things in my youth that actually WOULD have screwed me over the rest of my life due to legal consequences if I’d done something stupid. I know a LOT of overall good people who won’t ever reach their full potential because of choices they made in life. I avoided them because I was too busy playing games (among other activities). So in reality, video games probably spared me from the grief that so many blame them for.

So chew on that a while. :)
