Why is the forum bound by a certain width regardless of how wide my browser window is?

Seems like it is set up for 1024x768.

To develop the skinning and design of the site without spending a TON of time, it's built for a certain size to facilitate usability and reading across platforms/devices. About 45% of visits to this site so far are on mobile devices, so it's very rare that someone who has a high-resolution monitor wants to scale the width to 1650, and I am not going to code it for every possible resolution.

So because I'm a people-pleaser, just for you I've added to the User Control Panel a new setting (with the default to "off") that will allow you to change your view to have it scale to fill the entire width of your monitor. It won't be the best experience, and some images/forums/logos may not look right, but it's there now if you want to enable it. UCP --> Board Preferences --> Edit display options --> "Use maximum width".

Enjoy. 8-)

When viewing on mobile the text "*ARIZONASHOOTING.ORG" at the top of the page is the largest width item on the page. Because of that the page isn't zoomed correctly. If you could change that it would be nice.

I've gotta ask what phone you have... the entire AZ flag banner is less than 1K pixels wide, and the "ARIZONASHOOTING.ORG" is less than 480 pixels wide. What phone today doesn't have at least a 480-pixel wide resolution on it? Or am I not understanding what you're saying?

Samsung S8 with the stock "internet" browser.

Because of that the default page zoom is the width of everything else on the page. When scrolling the page can slide left to right. Not a big deal, but an improvement that could be made.

I will look into this a bit more later. Roughly 35% of the visits to this site are from mobile devices and you're the first one I've heard of mention this or bring it up as an issue. It doesn't happen on my phone, though I have a Galaxy S9 Plus.

Anyone else have this issue?
