Use to ride Sonoran Preserve trails, did any of you ever venture on the trail under the Carefree Hwy. that takes you to the Flume trail? I discovered it was well above my riding skill while doing an endo over the front handlebars.

Sidewinder. That's the main trail I ride there. I usually take Apache Wash as a warmup (from Apache Wash trailhead), then it hooks around to Sidewinder and around up to the Carefree trailhead and back around until it connects with Ocotillo, then ride that all the way back to the Apache Wash trailhead parking lot. Total is just over 17 miles.

Those were always fun trails to ride, the flume, not so much!

Good to see others ride too. I have a Pivot switchblade that has been my main bike. I mostly ride at San tan, but often hit up south mountain or anywhere in Tucson if I can get away long enough.

That said, I always carry an xds .45 holstered in a g-code holster on my hydration pack. I've never had an issue of it bouncing out, even on rowdy/rocky areas on my full squish.

Switchblade is a great bike. Yours 27.5+ or 29er?

Switchblade has been amazing, 29er, I can't ever go bscj. I ride a friend's yeti sb5 turq, 29er as well, but I like switchblade more every time I come back to it. I'm curious how this next switchblade is going to do.

I do! I used to MTB on the east coast but since I've moved here I've had much more fun across a wider variety of trails. Downhill on the east coast is laughable to the DH stuff here on Humphries!

I'll ride up to 105 outside, but not at Trail 100 past 100 degrees. That place is what I imagine the surface of a hostile moon to be like and the heat just beats you from the ground for some reason more than anywhere else I ride.

I carry a G19 or a Para .45 in an outboard pack pocket for more remote trail rides up north. Always have a trauma kit, wilderness boo boo and a splint in my Camelback Hog as well. I've had to break out med and help others twice since living here.

I'm an avid mountain biker. Generally don't carry though. One of my riding buddies always has his g43 in his hip pack.

I've carried my wife's pm9 in the hip pack a few times. Just don't feel that vulnerable at Hawes, GC and SoMo though.

:shifty: Just took the plunge and invested in tubeless rims and tires, getting to the point I could fix a flat faster than a pit crew, have spent a ton of dough on tubes and patches these past five years on this bike

Don't carry on my MTB. If I see a snake I just run them over. Same with any thugs I chance upon as I exit the north side of south mountain. Surprises the f*** out of them. They don't seem to understand physics much or how a 200lb man headed downhill on his MTB at 20 mph can lay them out like an overcooked pancake. Hold the syrup.
