Where can you shop without a mask?

I live in North Phoenix, and I have not been wearing a mask. Up until now, I've been able to walk in the grocery store without a problem, but today that changed.

The manager of my neighborhood Fry's hunted me down in the store and handed me a mask along with a letter explaining their new mask policy. Masks will now be required for ALL customers starting next Wednesday regardless of the exemptions within the city mandate. The letter states, "If wearing a mask is not a comfortable option, we kindly ask you to consider our online shopping options."

I am somewhere between deeply sad and angry over the policy change. Walmart announced the implementation of its nationwide mask mandate, and I'm sure other stores are doing the same. The online shopping options work for some grocery items, but who wants some rushed food courier picking out something like steaks. No thanks. I've ordered groceries online twice before, and both times they screwed up the order bigtime.

Are there any stores that do not require you to wear a mask? I'd be willing to drive a decent distance to shop mask and judgment free.

If these masks are sooooooo important, why did it take them some long to implement the policy? Why once deciding on this policy are they waiting a week to implement it? Can you imagine how many people are going to die because they waited a week to mandate the new policy? Yeah, me neither, because it's not stopping anything. Espcially when a ton of customers and employees aren't even wearing them over their noses.

I am not wearing a mask for medical reasons. If it weren't for that, I would be courteous and put the mask on even if I did an eye roll while I did. They offer minimal protection, so it's extra frustrating.

I agree, there is not conclusive data as to the amount they protect.

Have you considered a face shield instead of a mask? If I want to go into my office, I have to wear a mask...I know some people with medical reasons have been able to wear a face shield with no issues.

I haven't even considered a face shield, but I'll look into it. The only people that I've seen wearing face shields also had a mask on, so I didn't know faceshield only was an option. Thank you for the suggestion.

Also, the ADA recognizes medical conditions such as asthma as a disability...so they really can't force you to wear a mask if you have a valid medical condition. If you want to fight it, just show the store manager a doctors note.

They are just afraid of being sued or ending up on a youtube post....it's a sad time we live in.

The purpose of the surgical masks is to limit the amount of particles, e.g. spittle, that become airborne when you talk, exhale, sneeze, etc. It is medically known that they do not filter any virus or bacteria.

Yesterday I noticed a couple of people that just had some rags tied around their face.
It's a placebo that makes all the paranoid people feel safe and you will be left alone.

ditto was there around noon, and saw quite a few not wearing a mask, however a few held a rag or hankie in front of their face, lol, not sure what it was to accomplish, not a fan of mask, don't put it over my nose, so......................and attempt to get away without one so try not to go where one is requested.

Someday maybe you will have a medical issue where you can't breathe and you are forced to make it worse by some company. Then there is the chemical disinfectant odor in every store that chokes some people. Don't want to risk it stay home. You will take the vaccine, you will take the chip and you will turn in your guns when they tell you to. Don't tell me you will fight for your freedom when it gets to you guns. You wont.

The mask thing is just something to further divide us and it is working. Never before in the world has this been done. It is because if they can't keep Trump out the democrats are over. Be courteous to those with breathing problems. Even republicans are turning against republicans over a f***ing mask.

There are NO guidelines on what masks you have to wear. N95s are good, Surgical masks are good, bandanas are good, actually anything that covers your nose and mouth have to be acceptable. When this first started I cut an old T shirt and made a bandana out of it, wore it UNDER my nose covering only my mouth and no one said jack. I'm looking for a new (thin ) girlfriend so I can get some new masks.

Chill out and have fun with it...it you get thrown out of a store with it on, get a video then get a lawyer...

It's not about masks it's about control.

That's because it's not about masks, it's about control.
Just one step closer to the cattle cars. "Just get on" says the govt. agent "it'll be like a vacation, everything will be just fine."

If everyone had balls and nobody complied it would soon be over. If Frys had to toss their entire inventor of meat and produce they would end the shit quick. But since so many patriotic freedom lovers in Arizona are bending over and saying more more more they will keep pushing. Orange county in California ended the crap there, got video from a friend of the beaches crowded with non mask wearers and people dining mask free. Georgia governor just banned masks, nobody can make you wear one at all.

Help end it by saying f*** no. This disease they are all so scared of is the damn flu which happens every damn year. Notice one damn thing on the news about flu this year? Has this ever happened before where the economy was just shut down?
