Oh, how I missed this site (especially the classifieds ). I've been "behind the lines" in my home state of IL for about 4 years now, and the old saying of, "you don't know how good you've got it 'till it's gone" is definitely true. At least I knew what I was getting into I suppose. Anyway, just wanted to swing by and say hey!

It's nice to see some familiar names! Things are A LOT different here in IL in regards to firearms (for those who don't already know). I came back in the middle of covid, and that was a horrible time to get a new (unconstitutional) FOID card. They actually sent me two cards...lol...each with the same info, but two different numbers. I just figured that if I ever had one of them revoked, I'd still have the other.

Another related incident that happened:

I sold 2 suppressors to a friend before I moved. According to the law, I could give him the cans in a locked box, and I would keep the key until his form 4s were approved. A paperwork error was made and the ATF contacted me at work. He made the corrections and sent it back in. He made another paperwork error and the ATF (again) contacted me at work. I told them that I'd get in touch with the buyer again and have him make the corrections. The agent I spoke with said that I'd have to take possession of the items while he submitted new paperwork. I told them I couldn't take possession of the items because I live in IL now. They asked, "which county?"....LOL.

It doesn't matter which county; I can't possess such items ANYWHERE in the state. I shouldn't have to tell them how to do their job... Anyway, it all got sorted out.

Ever since covid, I'm more of an ammo hoarder than a shooter, but I have thought about getting back into cowboy action.

Nice to see you around Rich. Hopefully it's working out well for you outside of that. If I remember right, you got those properties at a tax sale for pennies on the dollar, so cash out and come back where we're free!

Yeah, those properties didn't work out. I ended up selling both for a (very small) profit. We're on 17 acres now in rural Ramsey, IL. There's a lot of things I miss about AZ, but living 5' away from the next guy isn't one of them. If I ever hit the powerball and can afford to live wherever I want, you can bet that I'll be back.
