A long time ago, in a galaxy far away......

I had a FAL built by Derrick at AZEX in 2005. It was a really nice build and has been my favorite gun since. I have a new barrel I wanted installed and it seems he's no longer in business? I know gunplumber is the logical choice but not sure how he'd feel working on a gun with an azex stamp on the gun lol. So what happened with azex?

I don't want to put specifics on a public forum. He had a family tragedy and decided to get out of the gun business. He got into truck driving but that was a long time ago.

Here is another thread about him too.

A few of us are in contact with him daily, did you need something from him?

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

He is doing well, not doing anything gun related.

A few of us are in contact with him almost daily and will pass on the well wishes.

Not if he isn't doing gun work anymore. Hope he is doing well these days.

Please pass along my well-wishes, too.

Still wish I hadn't sold my Gray Ghost FAL he built.

Tell him we miss him on the board. I bought from him in the day and bought a pup from his neighbor. Good dude.

Cool stuff.
He is a great guy and I always liked his posts. It broke my heart to hear what he had to deal with, but I hope each day is better going forward.
A truck driver myself...semi retired collecting a pension so I do not want to work the crazy hours that I used to. If he is ever looking for a change, pm me and I can give my phone number to him...we are always looking for good hands.

I can tell you, he's living a life most of us would be envious of, at least I am a little bit.
