What Did You Do in the Reloading Room Today?

Sized my first 100 cases of 44 magnum (new caliber in my repertoire).

Also sorted a few hundred cases of "44 magnum" I acquired. 44 magnum is in quotes because about half of them were 44 special. That's okay. I wanted to load some of those to see if my wife can handle them. I know she can't handle the magnum loads with her physical ailments.

Also had five 45 Colt cases in the bunch and 30 of the magnum cases have live primers in them. Sent through the mail to me unknowingly. LOL

I've got about 50 Nosler 240 gr HP's and about 500 Hornady XTP 300 HP's.

If I can find magnum primers I've got some W296 for the 300 grain bulltets. If not I've got Unique that I can use large pistol primers with the 240 grain bullets.

Haven't seen any data yet if I could use Unique with those 300 gr bullets. Otherwise it's a hunt to find stuff I can use. LOL

Helluva score! I gave casting a shot last winter. Everything went great until it came time to sizing. I was probably trying to size too much in one pass. Probably need to order a .403 and a .402 bushing...

Oh and like everything else, I way overdid it. At one time I had @ 1,000lbs of lead, but I sold a lot of it off. Probably still have more than I need, and too much pewter as well.

My brother came to visit last weekend and brought me a coffee can of my father’s 9mm reloads. There was no date on the can. My father had other reloads in coffee cans with dates that ranged from about 25 years ago to about 40 years ago.

I took one apart today. He used a Sierra 125gr Jacketed RN over 5.9gr of some powder I cannot ID. I know back then he liked to use Herco a lot. The OAL was 1.179” which is longer than the Sierra book calls for. Interesting to note I think the case was brand new unfired. So I pulled 50 and I removed the center pin in my die and resized the cases. I’ll reuse the heads and use my powder. Then see if they still go boom.

No. Your press is exactly the right color.

You just didn't buy into the hype, but still got a lifetime of free replacement parts which you won't need and a lifetime warranty on the press itself against everything but intentional abuse and neglect.

My presses are all red too, the right kind meaning Hornady.

I'm looking at two half gallon containers full of brass that need to be decapped before doing wet tumbling's. I don't mind the 223 but damn, there is a lot of 9, lol. I usually have YouTube or Amazon Video playing something in the background while I do these kind of hobby chores.

I like the Hornadys. Have a pair of LNL APs, but only one mounted up right now. I took a haitus from the 9mm about 2 weeks ago. Felt like I wasn't even making a dent, and then I found another 3,000 pieces of nickel plated out in the garage.

A portable reloading bench, or a TV in the reloading room would probably go a long ways towards making things more bearable. I really need to do one or the other. I use my RCBS prep center in the living room, which is the only thing that got me through trimming all that 30 carbine brass. :lol:

Finally found my 223 trim die for my Dillon trimmer which I've been looking for 8 months after my move from Prescott to Surprise. So trimmed 300 556 tases.

I held a contest yesterday to guess how many AR pivot pin tools I own, including clevis pins used as tools, and extra credit for how many I searched for an couldn't find.

Yesterday the correct answer was 6, today it is 7. Who knows what it will be next month.
