Wesley Mark III .38S&W Question

I have a friend who has this gun. It's in good condition but I don't find a lot about it on the internet.
I find a lot of Mark 1's and VI's on Gunbroker but only 1 or two Mark III's.

My friend want to sell it but has no idea what it's worth (generally speaking in good condition.). I don't either.

Anyone out there own a Webley Mark III pistol and have an idea what they may be worth?

My understanding is that the Mk3s were primarily issued to police, almost entirely to the Hong Kong Constabulary. They were used extensively as the primary police sidearm for Hong Kong until the drug wars of the 70's began to spill into the streets and the arms race between bad guys and police intensified. It was in the late 70s and early 80s when the HK police force switched to more powerful .38spl. S&W and Colt revolvers. This was likely when the Webley Mk3 was surplused off to the American market.

As a police weapon, it likely received better maintenance and attention than the average military handgun.

Question forwarded. Stand By.... Expert #1 has no clue, but expert #2 is still cogitating. However, comment from #1 is "In general the little .38s go for a lot less than the .455s as there is a lot less demand for them." More as they get back with me.

Word from the ol' Anglophile is their small, fragile and worth whatever you can get someone to pay. Someone who "wants" one, usually as a wall hanger, since they're not all that robust. 2-3 hundred, grab it and run. Best I can do, HTH, YMMV.
