I've wanted one of these for a while and it seems like a pretty solid deal. I can usually restrain myself from impulse purchases but my justification is that I'm getting a new Gun Safe delivered tomorrow so might as well start filling it, right?

Swiss K31. Now I just gotta buy a magazine and some expensive ass ammo.

The surplus match grade GP11 ammo is good stuff, but it will eventually run out. The solution to enjoying these rifles is to load for them. Fortunately, they use the common .308 diameter bullets, and load data is not hard to find.

Good Pickup. I have a couple of those rifles and they are my favorite "surplus" gun of the era.

PPU makes ammo for them that is easier to find and a bit cheaper than the GP11 - but I think PPU only does it in batches.

I have been 3d printing myself the stripper clips they use as those have been going up in price as well.

I have gotten exceptional accuracy from the GP11. Amazing rifles and ammo.

some of the most accurate gats on the old world market, shot a gaggle, and owned a gaggle.

enjoy the old

Love those K31's, your journey is just starting. Just as enjoyable if not more is the K11, or the 1896/11, etc.

Phoenix Rod & Gun Club has a monthly shoot for military and milsurp rifles, along the lines of CMP Games matches.

35 shots, all at 200yds (and PRGC has electronic targets) prone and standing, slow and rapid fire.

bring 2 guns & ammo, we shoot the course of fire twice, usually done late morning.

Bayonets etc are also around one of the company that big time import swiss guns often has a whole selection of them . Very nice bolt action these have

Sooooo, in the late 90’s I was stationed in Germany and had friend in Switzerland who owned a small gun shop and I got the bug for a K-31. He hooked me up with one that had been completely Swiss arsenal reblued and with a refinished stock. I found a place in CONUS that’d import it and started things in motion. Then my buddy said, “Why don’t you buy these two rifles as well-I can make you a deal on them”. One was a G-11 which was absolutely mint and still had the Arsenal accountability tag hanging from the trigger guard and the other was a K-11 in excellent+ condition. Price? $90.00 USD for each rifle. It’s just as much of a pain to import one rifle as it is to import three so I jumped on his offer. The K-11 has the best trigger pull I’ve ever encountered on any military rifle. What was really cool is that the importer kinda sorta forgot to stamp them. Then they went from the importer to my LGS. I really didn’t want the G-11 cuz’ it was about as long as a telephone pole (which I now regret) to my LGS to cover the transfer and shipping fees.
