Well after a long process that took over 2yrs to complete we are finally living full time in St Johns, AZ and no longer have ties to CA.

We made the final move at the end of June. It was an ordeal involving 5 hrs of sleep in 60 hrs, driving 1500 miles and blowing 3 tires on the trailer (I think I was slightly overloaded) but it's over.

Too much to type it all out, so here is the thread from another forum where I detail the process.

Congrats!
40 acres sounds nice.

I lived in 29 in the late 80's/early 90's.
Technically after the easements it's only 36 acres but still nice. Closest neighbor is over 500yds away as the crow flies.

I was in 29 during that time frame as well and still in the Marines att. Who were you with or were you a dependent?

We were in 29 for 34 years.

Glad to have you in free America, as long as the "restrictions" of California don't come with you. :)
If I wanted any of the "restrictions" we would still be in 29 Palms, as it was a great place to live. We were there for 34yrs and if CA hadn't gone full retard we would have happily lived out our retirement there. Yet we instead pulled up stakes and relocated to a completely new area to start over with no friends or support structure. Though I wasn't expecting that jog to the left AZ took in the 2018 elections.

Look through my posts and you will see I am more freedom loving then some of your fellow "native born" Arizonans who post on here.

Crossed paths with this guy in my driveway the other day. Nice sized gopher snake to help keep the rodents under control.

Welcome to Arizona!

Remember why you left that place....remember what brought you here. Vote accordingly. :D
Thanks for the welcome but as far as voting goes I won't have to vote any differently then when I was in CA. I watched what the libs did to the state I was born in and fought them every step of the way. Lost a few friends over it even.

It is a bit amusing that I am cautioned on how I vote while there are plenty of native Arizonans who are happily swallowing the left's ideas. Which has produced Flake, Sinema and Tucson's sanctuary city BS. As well as that jog to the left in the 2018 elections which I sure wasn't expecting. It is not all about CA.

All of which you mention is precisely why you are being cautioned on voting. We're getting far too many California transplants here that bring their left wing politics with them.

Sorry to upset you...I'm not telling you which way to vote at all, that's between you and the ballot box, as it should be. You vote however you like (accordingly) that's what makes this country so great. Sounds like you're on the right side of things already...again, welcome to Arizona.

Not really upset just pointing out that there are plenty of home grown libtards to worry about as well. Too many people like to ignore their own while blaming it all on CA. Just as too many Texans still like to say, "it's just down in Austin" while ignoring that every major city in their state is solidly blue. Not knowing the true extent of your enemy is a sure way to lose the fight.

My comment about continuing my voting habits meant I wouldn't vote for ANY libtard crap...same as I was already doing in CA.

Except AZ had its first serious infusion of libtards many decades ago when the scum from Chicago and NYC moved west and it has been metastasizing ever since.

Yep, big New yorker exodus showed up in mid to late 70s, then mid 80s was chi town folks, we have been going the way of the dodo for quite a while, surprised its been as conservative as it has been due to the neophytes , but its coming. hopefully not in my life time

We're happy to have you here on our side of the barricade.
But shouldn't you change your handle to "Steve_not_in_29" or "Steve_in_StJohns" or something?

While the change would be more accurate, I am on too many forums (with feedback and reputation points) to change my name.

Took care of the last vestige of CA today when I took wife to Show Low MVD to get her AZ license.

I got my AZ drivers license over a year ago but she had misplaced her naturalization and other paperwork some time ago and we didn't find it until unpacking the final load.
