Reports are beginning to come in that some Turkish made 7.62x51 M80 ammo marketed under the ZSR brand have been destroying brand new robust reliable guns by detonating and blowing them up. So far, a Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM that was unfired and brand new, exploding on firing only its 17th round ever,...and a near new Zastava M77 using the exact same production lot also exploding.

The lot number in question here is ZSR22J030-001

But so far, nothing conclusive has been established other than that 2 new robust guns in good condition using this same production have exploded in similar fashion within recent weeks. Obviously this particular production lot is suspect. But we do not know if this is the ONLY production lot to be risky.

If you have bought or received this ammo in the last few months, CHECK THE LOT NUMBER on your boxes. And even if yours is not this production lot number, I would advise you not shoot it until more evidence accumulates in the near future as to whether this problem is limited to just the one batch or not.
